Credentialed Veterinary Technician - Waller Equine Hospital

Waller Equine Hospital has a full time technician/assistant swing shift job opening. We are located in Waller, TX northwest of Houston. We have small town living with the convenience of the big city within 30 minutes. The practice employs 25 staff members including, two equine surgeons, three general practitioners, and three LVT’s. The equine facilities include a 20 stall barn, equine isolation unit, 12 paddocks, and 2 pastures. The technician/assistant we will employ will be self-motivated, team player, detail oriented, with a willingness to learn new tasks. Responsibilities will include receiving emergency’s, patient monitoring, patient care, intravenous injections, fluid therapy, cleaning the surgery suite/recovery stalls/exam with a power washer, cleaning the front office, and instrument sterilization.

The position offers an opportunity with diagnostic equipment such as digital radiography, video endoscopy, blood gas analysis, complete blood cell counts, biochemical profiles, laser, shockwave, Fluxergy PCR analyzer, and more. 

Shift: The shift will be rotating with 5 other technicians/assistants through a 1p-1a shift as well as a 5p-5a shift. Each technician/assistant works 3 – 12 hour shifts per week. The technician/assistant works 2 weekends out of 5.

Requirements: Applicant must be over 18 years old. Horse handling skills are required. Previous veterinary experience as well as technician license is not required but a plus.
