Senior Tax Accountant
Position Overview
The Senior Tax Accountant is responsible for supporting the Company’s tax compliance, reporting, and planning activities across a multi-state environment. This role partners closely with Finance leadership and external advisors to ensure accurate, timely filings and strong internal controls.
This is a highly collaborative individual contributor role requiring both technical tax expertise and the ability to communicate effectively across functions in a fast-growing organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and support federal, state, and local tax filings, including income, sales/use, and other applicable tax returns.
- Coordinate with external tax advisors to support compliance, research, and tax planning initiatives.
- Assist with tax provisions, audit support, and related documentation.
- Monitor and interpret changes in tax regulations across multiple jurisdictions.
- Support the integration of newly acquired entities from a tax compliance perspective.
- Partner cross-functionally with Accounting and Finance to ensure accurate tax reporting and alignment with financial close processes.
- Contribute to process improvements and documentation to enhance tax controls and efficiency as the organization scales.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required; CPA preferred.
- 5+ years of progressive tax experience, preferably in a multi-state or growth-oriented organization.
- Strong understanding of federal and state tax compliance requirements.
- Experience working with external auditors or tax advisors.
- Experienced in accounting software and tax reporting tools. Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Excel capabilities.

Compensation & Benefits
The salary range for this position is $90,000 – $100,000 annually. Final compensation will be determined based on experience, skills, and qualifications.
This position may also be eligible to participate in Lakefield’s annual incentive bonus program, subject to eligibility and plan terms.
