*Note: This position requires presence in our San Francisco office location 4 days per week; Lambda’s designated work from home day is currently Tuesday.
What You’ll Do
- Spearhead the vision and execution for our AI-first cloud platform, leading a team of world-class engineers
- Drive innovation in platform performance, reliability, and feature development, ensuring our technology remains at the forefront of the competitive AI cloud landscape
- Champion a culture of operational excellence, fostering robust documentation, data-driven decision making, compliant practices, and high-velocity feature delivery
- Shape the technical strategy of our applications, guiding pivotal architectural decisions
- Cultivate and retain top-tier engineering talent, driving professional development and performance management strategies that keep our team at the cutting edge of the industry
- Align product, engineering, and overall company strategy to build technical roadmaps and develop engineering-driven features
You
- 10+ years of progressive software engineering experience, with at least 4 years in a management role at high-growth technology companies
- Proven track record of building and scaling engineering organizations that deliver mission-critical, high-performance cloud applications serving millions of users
- Deep expertise in cloud-native architectures, particularly in designing and managing large-scale distributed systems on Kubernetes
- Extensive experience with modern full-stack technologies, including proficiency in Python and React
- Strong background in public-facing API design and implementation, with a focus on developer experience and scalability
- Exceptional leadership skills with high EQ, capable of inspiring and developing world-class engineering talent while navigating the challenges of hypergrowth
- Extensive experience in cross-functional collaboration, particularly in aligning engineering efforts with product, sales, and others
- Track record of successful project and product delivery in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Nice to Have
- Experience managing a remote team
- Experience building AI/ML applications from scratch
- Experience with event-driven systems such as Kinesis, Kafka, etc
- Strong Linux programming background
- Experience in Go and core Kubernetes features under the hood
Salary Range Information
Based on market data and other factors, the annual salary range for this position is $165,000 - $247,000. However, a salary higher or lower than this range may be appropriate for a candidate whose qualifications differ meaningfully from those listed in the job description.
