We are looking for an experienced leader to join our 3rd shift team as a Manufacturing Process Leader at our Midlink facility!

The Manufacturing Process Leader (MPL) role has a broad scope as it combines technical skill and leadership responsibility.  The MPL must be skilled in workplace organization, problem solving and be an efficient and empathic communicator with integrity.  Working directly with the team, a MPL should possess a strong ability to motivate, and develop team members to support the Process Area in meeting goals; including but not limited to, safety, takt adherence, productivity, quality and continuous improvement.

Summary

The Manufacturing Process Leader (MPL) role has a broad scope as it combines technical skill and leadership responsibility.  The MPL must be skilled in workplace organization, problem solving and be an efficient and empathic communicator with integrity.  Working directly with the team, a MPL should possess a strong ability to motivate, and develop team members to support the Process Area in meeting goals; including but not limited to, safety, takt adherence, productivity, quality and continuous improvement.  

Principal Accountabilities, (Other duties may be assigned)

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each responsibility satisfactorily.  The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

  1. Operate within facility safety guidelines and promote the use of safe practices.
  2. Facilitate cross-training with team members to become proficient with all products and processes.
  3. Lead meetings to communicate goals and develop actions to reach goals.
  4. Encourage and support team members with the implementation of continuous improvement ideas.
  5. Ensure team utilization/adherence of Standard Work and Quality Standards.
  6. Work to improve the accuracy of manufacturing documentation (BOM, routing data, work instructions, quality criteria, playbooks, etc.).
  7. Works cross functionally to adjust and shift labor to meet overall operational needs.
  8. Provide input regarding operational goals, team member performance and strategic planning.
  9. Ensure equipment maintenance and calibration is completed in a timely manner and maintains appropriate documentation.
  10. Actively promote/direct daily housekeeping, and workplace organization (5S) to ensure the entire process area is in tour ready condition.
  11. Manages budgetary responsibilities, promotes responsible spending and strives to come in at or below monthly/annual budget.
  12. Works to develop team members (OnTRACs, coaching, non-negotiables, shaping culture, etc.).

Criteria for Success

Must understand and serve the needs of their customers by providing positive educations experiences.  Must have a history of achievement with an emphasis on problem solving.  Must have the desire to continuously improve and be willing to accept responsibility.  Must be able to work in a team and build a network of relationships with a positive attitude.

Education, Experience and Skills

High School Diploma, GED or equivalent skill level.  Must possess basic mathematical skills.  Must have the ability to communicate clearly and engage team members in projects, customer orders, materials and other customer needs.  Must be computer literate, follow basic e-mail etiquette, and have the ability to read engineering drawings.

Work Environment and Physical Requirements

The environment is mostly on the shop floor in a noisy and sometimes hot environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and twist 80% of the time and stand up to 10 hours.  Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with disabilities to perform the principal accountabilities.
