Manufacturing Quality Technician

In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring quality across our manufacturing, supply chain, and engineering teams. Your day-to-day will involve identifying and investigating non-conforming parts and finished goods, helping us maintain high standards while supporting both production and new product development.

How You Contribute:

  • Operate within facility safety guidelines
  • Investigate and document non-conformances using root-cause analysis, and work with manufacturing, supply chain, manufacturing engineering and product engineering to develop and implement long-term resolutions
  • Focus on the inspection and quality of raw materials, manufactured components and assemblies; support process partners on sample submissions (PSWs and FSWs) and supply appropriate communication and documentation.
  • Support calibration program by maintaining fixture and gage calibrations
  • Report quality concerns to manufacturing group leaders, manufacturing process leaders, team members, supply chain, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, and the tool room when appropriate
  • Set up, operate and maintain the CMM and other related gage devices to inspect components for compliance
  • Make and implement suggestions to support product and process continuous improvement
  • Assist manufacturing with training and quality process development
  • Perform manufacturing process audits to ensure compliance to established standards.

Criteria for Success:

Must have a history of achievement with an emphasis on problem-solving and customer service.  Must be able to analyze data from many variables and apply engineering concepts to identify problems and determine root cause. Must have the desire to continuously improve and be willing to accept responsibility. Must work well in a team environment, building a network of relationships with a positive attitude.

Education, Experience, Skills and Reasoning

Must have the ability to work independently and objectively plan and organize tasks. Proficient using Microsoft tools including Excel and Word software. Must be knowledgeable in the use of common quality system tools such as PFMEA, Gage R&R, capability studies, GD&T, tolerance stack-ups, standard deviation and the use of a CMM. Must possess the ability to read and interpret blueprints. Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in common units of measure and have a working knowledge of data collection, data analysis, and evaluation.

Must have strong written and oral communication skills. Ability to read, comprehend, and write basic instructions.  Ability to give clear instruction on procedures and communicate technical information effectively with individuals at all levels, including suppliers.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment

The environment is mostly on the shop floor in a noisy and sometimes hot environment. Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, bend and twist 80% of the time, and stand up to 10 hours.  Good hand to eye coordination is required.
