Job Responsibilities
- Leads the planning and execution of field investigations for environmental engineering projects.
- Monitors complex construction projects by overseeing the execution of various environmental tests to evaluate environmental impact and compliance with job specifications.
- Leads and manages tasks associated with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, cost estimates and designs for projects.
- Assigns and coordinates the work of staff engineers, interns and others who assist in specific assignments as needed, such as performing field tests, collecting samples, collecting and recording data, and performing routine calculations.
- Reviews work product of staff engineers prior to submission. May Coach and train staff.
- Prepares final reports documenting field investigations and analytical results.
- Performs research, assessment and special calculations for the prevention, control, and remediation of environmental hazards.
- Manages and/or tracks project budgets and schedules.
Qualifications
- This position requires a Master’s Degree (or foreign equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or another closely related field of study plus 2 years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering occupation.
- Alternatively, the employer will accept a Bachelor’s degree (or foreign equivalent) in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering or another closely related field of study plus 3 years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering occupation.
- Entire duration of qualifying professional experience (2 or 3 years) must include the following:
- Experience in contaminated sites investigation, engineering feasibility studies, remedial and mitigation system design and construction oversight;
- Experience conducting Phase I and II environmental site assessments, and remedial investigations (RI), including drilling observation, soil classification and sampling, well installation, soil vapor and indoor air sampling, and construction/remediation oversight and engineering inspections;
- Experience performing small-and large-scale engineering control designs, operation and maintenance, and optimization, including soil vapor intrusion mitigation systems;
- Experience with state and federal environmental regulations, including CERCLA and RCRA; and,
- Experience working with state regulatory agencies on environmental projects.
- Travel Requirement: This position requires up to 50% domestic travel to client sites within the same metro area and a normal commuting distance of primary worksite.
Salary Range: $98,000 - $110,000. Certain US jurisdictions require Langan to include an estimate of salary or hourly ranges. The range provided for this role is an estimate. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as related work experience, location, market conditions, education/training, certifications and other credentials, as well as applicable knowledge and skills. Certain roles may be eligible for overtime and participation in the firm's annual bonus and performance review program. Bonuses are discretionary and based on individual job performance and the profitability of the firm. Employees are also eligible to receive up to 20 days of paid vacation time, 10 days of paid sick time and 10 paid holidays throughout the year. Eligibility and actual paid time off may vary based on local law and factors such as hours worked, related work experience and level.
