Program Manager of Youth Force Internship

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Reporting to the Associate Director of Employment, the primary role of the Program Manager of Youth Force Internship is to supervise the day-to-day operations of the Youth Force Internship program, as well as provide leadership, guidance, and supervision to staff. The Program Manager of Youth Force oversees the development and implementation of the training curriculum for program staff. Some key responsibilities include: ensuring the integration of employment services into Larkin Street’s continuum of services, managing, monitoring, and reporting on public and private grants and contracts, and oversight of program budgets. This position is tasked with creating programmatic change as is necessary to support workforce development and client goals for further employment and/or education.
This is a full-time position, eligible for full benefits.
Your responsibilities:
- Oversee Youth Force internship program for Larkin Street Youth Services clients.
- Responsible for interviewing and hiring staff for the Youth Force program team, as well as supporting interviewing and hiring for other Workforce staff.
- Supervise record keeping for programs the role oversees, including intern employment documentation and timecards.
- Provide weekly supervision to Youth Force Counselors.
- Facilitate regular Youth Force meetings with staff.
- Attend meetings, manage communications, and collaborate at various Larkin Street program sites and external agencies to support Larkin Street clients, and staff, and to facilitate coordinated care as directed by the supervisor.
- Contribute to Larkin Street Youth program refinements in ways that meet employers’ needs and expectations.
- Create engagement and support plans for Youth Force participants with higher needs.
- Assist staff to develop curriculum for life-skills classes, including job readiness, job development and retention, college success and career planning, and independent living skills.
- Participate in all management meetings, weekly staff meetings, and all other relevant or required agency or contract/community/grant partner meetings.
- Participate in agency planning activities.
- Facilitate and encourage high cross-coordination and collaboration with LSA and Engagement programming.
- Manage the Youth Force program budget and submit the monthly expense report.
- Run weekly database reports for Youth Force and report relevant contract data to Associate Director or other departments as needed.
- Maintain professional standards of performance, demeanor, and appearance at all times.
- Perform tasks and responsibilities in a complete and timely manner, complying with agency policies and standards and conforming to the requirements of this job description.
- Maintain an awareness of the agency’s mission and work to promote the positive individual and social change goals it embodies.
- Exercise discretion, confidentiality, and professional judgment at all times keeping with the responsibilities carried personally and by the agency for the care and welfare of staff and the youth whom we serve.
- Actively strive to upgrade professional skills through engaging in appropriate professional training and experience.

WHO YOU ARE:
- You are passionate about the Larkin Street Youth Services mission to end youth homelessness.
- You have 2-3 years of experience in workforce development, academic or related discipline.
- You have transferable leadership experience, leading workforce development and/or youth development programs.
- You hold a valid Driver's License.
- You have previous experience working with homeless, at-risk, and runaway youth preferred.
- You are eager to work with Transitional Aged Youth (TAY), aged 18 to 25 of diverse backgrounds, similar to the client base at Larkin Street Youth Services.
- You are a self-starter and team player. Your colleagues describe you as organized and collaborative.
- You work best in a hybrid working environment with one day per week work-from-home.
- You are willing to serve as an After Hours On-Call Supervisor for 7 days, every 6-8 weeks.
- You are willing to work holidays occasionally.
- You are vaccinated against COVID 19.
