Supply Chain/ Industrial Engineering Summer Internship
Lasko Products, an industry leader of home environment products for over 100 years, is seeking a Supply Chain/ Industrial Engineer Summer Intern for our Ft. Worth, TX light manufacturing facility.The summer internship will run from mid- May through Mid- August.
As a Supply Chain/Industrial Engineering Intern, you will assist the team in analyzing and improving warehouse layout, inventory balance, flow, and performing regional analysis to optimize our supply chain operations. You will work closely with experienced engineers and supply chain professionals to apply your academic knowledge to real-world challenges and gain valuable insights into the complexities of supply chain management.
Key Responsibilities:

Warehouse Layout Optimization:
- Assist in analyzing and redesigning warehouse layouts to maximize space utilization and operational efficiency.
- Conduct simulations and provide data-driven recommendations to improve warehouse organization.
- Support the team in assessing material handling equipment and storage solutions.

Inventory Balance & Flow Analysis:
- Help track and analyze inventory levels to ensure balance between supply and demand.
- Work on designing and implementing strategies for inventory flow to reduce bottlenecks and improve overall operational performance.
- Identify potential issues in inventory management processes and suggest improvements.

Regional Analysis:
- Support the team in analyzing regional supply chain performance, focusing on transportation, distribution, and warehouse operations.
- Gather and interpret data related to regional supply chain metrics to identify trends, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
- Assist in developing regional performance reports and presenting findings to management.

Data Collection & Reporting:
- Assist in collecting data, conducting analysis, and generating reports on warehouse performance and supply chain efficiency.
- Use data visualization tools to present findings and support decision-making processes.

Collaboration:
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including supply chain, operations, and IT to implement best practices.
- Participate in team meetings, brainstorming sessions, and project updates to contribute innovative ideas and solutions.
Qualifications:
- Currently pursuing a degree in Industrial Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or a related field.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail with an ability to work with large datasets.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel (advanced), data analysis, and reporting tools.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory management practices is a plus.
- Basic knowledge of layout planning, material handling systems, and supply chain logistics.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills with the ability to work independently.
- Problem-solving mindset and eagerness to learn and contribute to process improvements.
