LastPass is looking for a Senior Revenue Accountant:

You will be involved in various revenue accounting activities, such as making sure taxation entries in relation to E-Comm revenue are correctly accounted for and driving the related Indirect Tax data submission process. Also you will participate in accounting for certain third-party processors of credit card transactions. You will have a deep understanding of internal order/booking systems to make sure E-Comm revenue is accurate and complete.

Who will you work with?

The Senior Revenue Accountant role reports to the Finance Director and will be actively involved in various accounting operations activities. You will collaborate within the Accounting team as well as cross-functionally with teams such as FP&A, Tax, Finance Support Ops, etc., developing strong relationships with business stakeholders.

What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

  • Reporting to the Finance Director, you will actively participate in the monthly financial close for the sales subsidiaries
  • Prepare account reconciliations/analyses and journal entries for all areas including Accounts Receivable, Deferred Revenue, Accruals, etc.
  • Reconcile daily credit card transactions to the third-party processing statements; calculate related FX gain/loss, chargebacks, and credit card processing fees
  • Prepare domestic federal, state, and local tax requirements as well as local obligations (VAT Filings) in other countries of responsibility. Liaise with internal Tax colleagues and external tax advisors, drive exceptions to resolution with regards to tax reporting
  • Collaborate cross functionally with various departments including FP&A, Tax, Finance Support Ops, etc. to ensure accurate and complete general ledger activity
  • Develop a strong understanding of all internal order/booking systems that drive revenue to ensure processes and controls remain robust. Work with system owners to ensure systems are kept up-to-date and that business changes are understood by Revenue Accounting team before implemented
  • Support the external audit firm with interim and year-end audit requests as well as other ongoing audit requirements
  • Promote and maintain an effective internal control environment and assist with the ongoing control testing
  • Work with senior leadership to identify and implement initiatives to streamline accounting processes and systems to increase team efficiency
  • Be part of a small multi-functional sub-team who own Cash Application, Indirect Taxes and E-Comm Revenue Accounting); participate in the backup plan to make sure process delivery is covered upon PTO, sick leave, etc.

What does it take to work at LastPass?

  • Education in Accounting, Finance, or related discipline
  • Proven experience in accounting
  • Excellent attention to detail with ability to multi-task and prioritize in a dynamic, fast-paced, deadline-oriented environment
  • Strong work ethic with a desire to learn and be challenged; self-driven, motivated, and can cope with ambiguity
  • Ability to interact with and build productive working relationships across all organizational levels and departments
  • Proficient with Microsoft Excel and technology in general

It's great, but not required:

  • Experience in using NetSuite ERP
  • Experience in SaaS Revenue accounting, understanding of ASC606
  • Experience in working with external tax advisors to file international tax returns
