LastPass is looking for a Senior QA Engineer:
As a Senior QA Engineer you will join our existing team of engineers, being responsible for ensuring quality within their team. Senior QA Engineers are expected to lead and drive quality discussions, contribute to test planning activities, and oversee the overall quality health of their area.
If you are passionate about complex problem solving and motivated by scale, then this is the role for you!
Who will you work with?
In this role, you will collaborate closely with your team, as well as with colleagues across the engineering organization - including technical project managers, product engineering managers, and architects. You’ll also engage with leadership to provide insights and updates on the quality and performance of your team.
You will play a key role in building a better product by driving quality assurance processes within your team - ensuring the delivery of high-quality software to our users.
As a Senior QA Engineer, you will:
- Take ownership of testing software changes before release, proactively identifying issues, documenting results, and capturing any anomalies.
- Create comprehensive quality test plans that will evaluate the health and release-readiness of the features under test.
- Explore edge cases and umbrella features that overarch the work of multiple teams, plan and write tests for them.
- Explore the features under test with an eye towards the customers' experience and needs.
- Maintain and validate existing test cases.
- Advocate for quality across your team and the broader organization.
- Collaborate closely with engineers, product managers, and designers to define effective strategies for verifying software quality.
- Support your scrum team in building high-quality, reliable software.
- Partner with the support team to assess and prioritize incoming issues based on severity and impact.
- Be actively engaged in the full software development release cycle from requirements gathering to the final release to production.
- Validate features in production to ensure successful deployment.
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
- Participate in the testing and releasing of LastPass's desktop applications.
- Act as a quality expert in new developments shaping the future of password management and the connecting security space.
- With your expert knowledge, shape and mentor your immediate team and junior members.
- With support from your test manager, scale your processes across teams and departments (clusters).
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Proven experience in a similar QA role, ideally within a diverse, cross-functional team.
- Proven experience in designing complex and effective test cases.
- Solid understanding of QA methodologies, best practices, and a genuine passion for delivering high-quality software.
- Good understanding of the Software Testing Life Cycle (STLC) with the ability to identify areas for process improvement.
- Hands-on experience with tools such as Jira, Confluence, TestRail, and GitLab.
- Familiarity with technologies that support testing activities, including virtualization, testing infrastructure, build systems, and CI/CD.
- Some experience with working across both macOS and Windows environments, with knowledge of Active Directory.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and collaborate effectively.
