LastPass is looking for an Engineering Manager:
In this role, you'll lead a cross-functional, agile team delivering key features like user authentication, multi-factor authentication, account recovery, and Passkey functionalities. You'll take ownership of development and delivery, set clear goals, provide feedback, manage timelines, and ensure high-quality outcomes. The role also involves navigating technical challenges, supporting the team through shifting priorities, and staying aligned with customer needs - advocating for real value and joining customer calls when needed.
About the team:
You will lead a cross-functional team of highly skilled front-end and back-end engineers. This team has consistently demonstrated the ability to deliver high-quality features and solve complex problems through data-driven decision-making.

Who will you work with?
- Your cross-functional, agile engineering team
- Fellow Engineering Managers—both within your cluster (focused on a similar domain) and across other clusters
- The Product Owner for your team, ensuring alignment on delivering maximum value to customers
- Product Managers, who define and communicate business requirements
- Architects, who provide guidance and support on complex technical challenges
- The UX team, focused on delivering exceptional user experiences
- The Support team, participating in the assessment and prioritization of incoming issues and their severity
- You will also play a key role in helping the team quickly and effectively resolve customer issues, ensuring both speed and quality in delivery.
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
You will be responsible for the people management and career development of a team of 5+ engineers. In addition, you’ll actively contribute to architectural discussions, project planning, roadmap sessions, and operational decisions related to deployment and support.
- Recruiting, hiring, coaching, and mentoring developers within one or more teams
- Providing regular, constructive feedback and writing performance reviews to support professional growth
- Supporting the career development of team members through guidance and tailored opportunities
- Setting clear, ambitious, and achievable goals for individuals and the team
- Fostering a positive, inclusive team environment where people feel valued and motivated
- Contributing to all aspects of the development lifecycle, including design, implementation, testing, deployment, operation, and maintenance
- Supervising and supporting the successful execution of multiple complex projects simultaneously
- Establishing operational objectives and developing detailed work plans
- Participating in strategic planning, including risk assessment and mitigation
- Coordinating closely with other Engineering Managers, Architects, Product Managers, and Product Owners to help teams meet business objectives
- Engaging with senior management and executives on cross-functional and customer-impacting matters
- Analyzing, developing, and implementing policies, procedures, and engineering standards
- Managing organizational change within your area of responsibility
- Conducting cost-benefit analyses to support data-driven decision-making
- Acting as a champion of software quality and engineering excellence
- Building and nurturing a strong internal culture aligned with company values
- Actively engaging with and contributing to the local tech community
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Proven experience in enterprise-level product development
- A strong background in leading teams or managing people
- Hands-on experience in software engineering and/or software testing
- Deep understanding and practical application of agile methodologies, with the ability to foster and sustain agile principles within the team
- Structured thinker with a creative mindset, consistently driving the team toward execution excellence
- Strong focus on quality and a customer-centric mindset
- Experience in end-to-end ownership, taking responsibility beyond team boundaries
- Skilled in building and maintaining operational awareness, including shared deployment responsibilities, monitoring, incident handling, and failure mode analysis
- Capable of clearly communicating complex technical details to stakeholders, partners, and peers
- Comfortable engaging with customers, product managers, product owners, stakeholders, and senior leadership at all levels
- Demonstrated technical leadership combined with effective change management skills
- Collaborative, proactive, and solutions-oriented team player with a can-do attitude
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)

Experience in any of the following areas: cloud technologies, user authentication, multi-factor authentication, or passkey authentication
