LastPass is looking for a Senior Kubernetes Developer:
As a Senior Kubernetes Developer, you will have a strong focus on Kubernetes operations to design, build, and maintain cloud-native infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code and following GitOps principles/tools. You will orchestrate scalable containerized applications, streamline cluster operations while ensure high availability through automated deployments and observability over our infrastructure.

Who will you work with?
You will be part of a dedicated team within the vibrant and fast-paced environment of LastPass, where your contributions will play a crucial role in shaping the future infrastructure, enabling seamless application delivery and driving DevOps best practices across the organization. Leveraging your technical expertise, you'll be instrumental in generating innovative ideas and offering guidance to both your team and other engineering groups, ensuring smooth and efficient operations. You will be collaborating closely with our architecture and security teams to help guarantee that our services remain secure, reliable, maintainable, and scalable.
What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?
- Design and maintain Kubernetes clusters across all our environments;
- Thrive standardization and automation efforts of the build and deployment processes;
- Monitor system health and performance of our infrastructure;
- Automate infrastructure provisioning using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools;
- Collaborate with product development teams to streamline application delivery and driving DevOps best practices;
- Lead/support the migration of non-cloud native applications to the new infrastructure, including assessing the readiness and implementing best practices for scalability and maintainability;
- Enhance security and compliance posture of our infrastructure;
- Troubleshoot complex issues across the stack (networking, deployments, storage, etc);
- Participate on on-call rotations and contribute to incident response and root cause analysis.
What does it take to work at LastPass?
- Kubernetes Mastery:
- Cluster architecture & Operations – understand how to design and maintain multi-node clusters for performance, scalability and fault tolerance;
- Service Mesh & Network policies – proficient with service mesh technologies to manage observability, security and traffic routing between services;
- Auto-scaling & workload optimization – implementing horizontal/vertical auto-scaling and optimizing resource requests/limits for cost-efficiency and stability;
- Disaster Recovery & Upgrades – planning for and executing rolling upgrades on our clusters and workloads with zero downtime while having solid playbooks for disaster recovery scenarios;
- Cloud native fluency – essential to be have a good knowledge of and experience with AWS and EKS;
- Migration strategist – be able to assess app readiness and provide migration strategies for different types of applications while ensuring minimal disruption during transitions;
- Automation enthusiast – always keep the automation mindset in mind so that we automate any repetitive tasks;
- Observability & Reliability – using our observability tool (DataDog) you’ll need to ensure high update and fast resolution of issues;
- Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting abilities;
- A collaborative team-oriented approach with a can-do attitude;
- Effective communication skills with various stakeholder groups of different backgrounds and technical understandings within LastPass;
- Proficiency in English with strong written and verbal communication skills.
It's great, but not required:
- Experience with multiple IaC languages (CDK with TypeScript, Cloud Formation);
- GitOps practices – ArgoCD experience;
- Multi-cloud experience (AWS required, Azure nice to have);
