LastPass is looking for a Engineering Manager:

Who will lead our Commerce Engineering team, a critical part of LastPass’ digital commerce ecosystem. As an Engineering Manager, you will combine technical expertise with people leadership to guide your team. You will also own delivery of secure, high-quality solutions, lead technical strategy, and grow talent while aligning engineering with business goals.

About the team:

This team owns the backend systems that power our subscription, billing, and payment platforms, ensuring secure, scalable, and seamless experiences for millions of customers worldwide. We build and maintain services for invoicing, payments, and financial reporting, designed for reliability and performance. Our systems enable seamless integration across commerce and finance ecosystems, and we collaborate closely with product, finance, and engineering teams to deliver robust APIs using modern technologies and cloud-native services.

Who will you work with?

• With your immediate team reporting to you
• With your direct leader, Sr Director of Commerce and finance engineering
• With Dir of finance systems overseeing the financial Saas platforms
• With multiple other Engineering Managers both in your own pillar and in other clusters of the organization
• With the Product Owner of your team making sure the team is working on the right priorities
• With architects who support your team in major technical challenges
• With security experts who help your team meeting our security standards
• With the support team participating in the assessment and evaluation of incoming issues and their severity, helping the team fix the customer issues with speed and quality

 What are some of the exciting challenges you will be working on?

• Manage and mentor a distributed team of backend engineers and contractors.
• Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Drive career development and performance management for team members.
• Oversee design, development, and maintenance of backend commerce systems.
• Ensure platforms are scalable, secure, and integrated with adjacent systems.
• Drive best practices in software development, code quality, and architecture.
• Establish and maintain processes for reliability, uptime, and performance monitoring.
• Implement robust incident management and root cause analysis practices.
• Drive automation and efficiency improvements across development and operations.
• Collaborate Cross-Functionally
• Partner with Product, Finance, and other engineering teams to deliver commerce capabilities aligned with business goals.
• Collaborate with product managers, finance, marketing and business leaders, and key stakeholders to determine the team's roadmap and manage execution against that roadmap.
• Optimize legacy systems and architect new backend services for commerce workflows, entitlement management, and payment integrations.
• Perform code reviews and maintain high-quality engineering standards.
• Contribute to API development and backend features using .Net or other modern frameworks.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and frameworks to keep systems modern and competitive.

What does it take to work at LastPass?

• Engineering management experience with significant experience as a software engineer
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred).
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines, observability tools (Datadog), and incident management protocols.
• Deep understanding of software engineering principles, object oriented programming and microservices design patterns
• Understanding of distributed systems, API design, and integration strategies
• Track record of building and leading diverse teams and growing Sr. engineers.
• Expertise in agile methodologies, backlog grooming, sprint planning, and release management
• Able to explain technically challenging details to stakeholders, partners and peers 
• Able to interact with customers, PMs, stakeholders, senior leadership on all levels 
• Able to quickly adapt to new situations and to learn fast
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Fluent in English 

It's great, but not required:

• Hands‑on experience with Zuora Billing/RevPro, eCommerce integrations, and .Net framework.
• Familiarity with global standards such as PCI-DSS, GDPR, and SOC frameworks and financial audit processes.
• Experience building and maintaining  subscription, billing, and payment platforms with high availability and scalability.
