About the Role

This role is ideal for a hands-on QA Engineer with approximately four years of experience, focused on manual API testing and capable of contributing to automation efforts. The right candidate is comfortable working in a hybrid QA role, with the curiosity to explore, question, and improve the reliability and performance of APIs and backend services

What You’ll Do

• Design and execute manual test cases for APIs and backend services based on user stories and technical requirements.
• Build and maintain basic to intermediate API automation scripts, primarily using Postman and frameworks like Karate.
• Assist in running and analyzing performance tests using tools like Gatling and Prism under guidance.
• Collaborate with developers and product owners to clarify requirements, define acceptance criteria, and ensure test coverage.
• Identify, document, and track bugs through to resolution with clear, concise reporting.
• Maintain test data and test environments to support consistent and repeatable testing.
• Participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to ongoing QA process improvements.
• Communicate testing progress and risks clearly with both technical and non-technical team members
• Support technical evaluations of other consultants when required, contributing to the assessment of skills and alignment with project needs

What You Bring

• 4 years of experience in QA, with a mix of manual and automation testing (ideally 50/50).
• Strong hands-on experience in manual API testing using Postman or similar tools.
• Practical experience with API test automation, using any framework (e.g., Karate, RestAssured, Postman scripts).• Familiarity with performance testing tools such as Gatling, JMeter, or others.
• Basic scripting or programming knowledge (Java, JavaScript, or similar).
• Proven ability to create clear, reusable test plans, test cases, and bug reports.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable in Agile development environments.
• Growth-oriented mindset – eager to learn from peers and continuously improve testing practices and product understanding.
• Detail-focused and technically solid – ensures test coverage and quality through effective manual and automated testing.
• Clear communicator – explains test results, defects, and quality risks to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Collaborative team member – works closely with developers, designers, and productmanagers to build and release high-quality features.
• Takes ownership – accountable for test execution, defect tracking, and contributing to the overall stability of the product.
• Open to feedback – receptive to code reviews, process improvement, and mentoring to grow into more advanced QA responsibilities.
