About the Role 

As a Community Developer within the Data Engineering team, you will play a critical role in expanding the reach and impact of our modern data platform. This is a hands-on, highly technical content creation role where you’ll design and deliver resources that empower our analytics community to leverage data engineering, analytics, and AI tools to their fullest potential. 

You will work closely with engineers, architects, and other stakeholders to understand product capabilities and workflows, then translate that knowledge into compelling, easy-to-follow enablement content. You’ll also help define and evolve best practices for content measurement, incorporating UX and QA principles to ensure materials are effective, relevant, and continuously improved based on feedback. This position is best suited for someone who thrives at the intersection of technology, storytelling, and community building — with a passion for helping others unlock the value of data. 

What You’ll Do 

• Increase adoption and engagement of data platform through high-quality, technically accurate, and engaging content.  
• Build and maintain a rich library of self-service enablement materials (blogs, tutorials, videos, podcasts, and interactive resources).  
• Translate complex data engineering, analytics, and AI concepts into content that resonates with both technical and less-technical audiences.  
• Support the growth of the global analytics community via content aligned with our support forums, meet-ups, and community engagement initiatives.  
• Ensure all materials are up-to-date, accessible, and distributed through the right channels to reach target audiences.  
• Use AI tools effectively to speed development, maintain quality, and tailor communications for different user segments.
• Support technical evaluations of other consultants when required, contributing to the assessment of skills and alignment with project needs 

What You Bring 

•  3+ years of professional experience in data engineering, data analytics, or a related technical field.   
• Ideally 5 years of combined experience including content creation or community engagement. 
• Core stack: Vertex AI, Looker, Analytics Hub, Dataplex, BigQuery, Google Cloud Platform services.  
• Data platform and data engineering skills: joins and data manipulation, data marts, data pipelines, orchestration tools, API integrations.  
• Knowledge of data architecture principles.  
• Experience in tools and languages for analytics and development such as Python, SQL, Git, Jupyter, and relevant visualization tools.  
• Understanding of data science and machine learning workflows.
• Proven track record of creating technical content, tutorials, or enablement materials that communicate complex concepts to varied audiences.  
• Strong technical background with experience in data engineering, data analytics, data science, or machine learning.  
• Demonstrated ability to explain complex technical concepts to varied audiences.  
• Strong writing, video production, and storytelling skills, with a portfolio of technical content.  
• Experience using AI tools for content creation, enhancement, and translation.  
• Ability to work independently to manage deliverables, track progress, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.  
• Familiarity with UX principles and QA processes to test content effectiveness and optimize based on user feedback 

Nice to have: 

• Experience balancing hands-on technical work with content development or community engagement is highly desirable 
• Background in community engagement, developer relations, or technical evangelism is highly desirable.  
• UX testing and QA experience strongly preferred to ensure the right content reaches the right audience effectively.
