
Senior User Researcher

About this position:
As a Senior User Researcher at Later, you will be part of a strategic team that impacts Marketing, Product, and Sales teams. This role will lead research to deeply understand the creator + brand ecosystem, including how to strengthen creator partnerships, and also lead Marketing initiatives that heavily rely on data-backed insights.
You are strong in mixed methods, but can easily lean into your quantitative skillset best seen through the execution of large scale surveys. You can provide structure where there is ambiguity, and are a strong communicator, often working collaboratively and able to visually communicate your findings and insights in a way that is easy to understand and impactful. You understand user psychology, quantitative analytics, consumer behaviour, and what the business requires.
What you'll be doing:
Strategy
- Identify and prioritize key user research questions and objectives in partnership with multiple stakeholders including product, design, marketing, sales, and data teams. Works collaboratively to influence the timing for collecting, delivering, and refining user-driven insights
- Self directed in managing stakeholder relationships and has excellent communication skills to understand research needs.
- Manage time efficiently while balancing priorities, and ensure projects are well run, timely, and planned with clear tasks and milestones
Technical/ Execution
- Conduct a variety of quantitative and qualitative research, and select the appropriate methodology depending on the business needs and goals
- Analyze qualitative user data to generate tactical and strategic insights, actionable recommendations keeping in mind current knowledge, project goals, and risks
- Analyze quantitative data sets from data partners and execute large scale surveys to uncover insights that will inform content marketing initiatives
- Translate research findings into clear, concise insights and can articulate complex information into effective storytelling using clear, compelling, and engaging visuals (infographics, graphs, etc).
- Help product owners define a compelling product vision (short term and long term) and assess market demand based on data collected via market research, customer interviews and user surveys

- 5+ years experience in web app implementation and/or a combination of market research
- Degree in HCI, Cognitive Psychology, Human Factors, or related degree (or equivalent work experience)
- Demonstrated experience in user research process from planning, recruitment, execution, and delivering results
- Demonstrated experience executing usability studies, personas, diary studies, field studies, and other qualitative research methods
- Demonstrated experience of statistical concepts and other quantitative methods to ensure rigor and validity of research to inform and guide decisions. Methods include execution of large scale surveys.
- Experience in R, Python an asset
- Excellent communication and presentation skills that allow you to clearly communicate complex research concepts and direction to stakeholders across the company

Our approach to compensation:
We take a market-based & data-driven approach to compensation. We leverage data from trusted third-party compensation sources to help us understand the market value of a role based on function, level, geographic location, and scope. We evaluate compensation bi-annually, including performance and market-related factors.
Our salaries are benchmarked against market Total Cash Compensation for the geographic location of our job posting. Compensation for some roles is structured as On Target Earnings (OTE = base + commission/variable) while for others it is structured as Salary only.
To comply with local legislation and ensure transparency, we share salary ranges on all job postings. Skills, experience and other factors help determine the final salary we offer which may vary from the original range posted.
Additionally, all permanent team members are eligible to participate in various benefits plans as part of their overall compensation package.
Salary Range:
$ 90,000 - 104,000
*Co-op team members, independent contractors, and freelancers are not eligible for company benefits.
