
Mission Lead II

Mission Leads are the individuals responsible for the safe operation of Latitude AI’s vehicles. We test, monitor, and expand on Latitude AI's capabilities’ giving way to Latitude AI’s vision of safer travel for all. With an eye to the future of mobility, Fleet Operations takes the vehicles and travels the road of the people; traversing the country on the open road to ensure the product is something we are proud to stand behind.
What you’ll do:
- Operate, either independently or part of a team, a Latitude Test Vehicle; to a high degree of efficiency and efficacy
- Maintain a deep knowledge of in-vehicle software,hardware, and overall system
- Create and establish robust safety mechanisms and protocols to enhance workplace security and compliance
- Act as the primary liaison with engineering teams and cross-team collaborators in key technical areas
- Maximize resources and reduce costs, leading process improvement initiatives from start to finish
- Independently direct day-to-day operations with minimal external guidance
- Owns development of process improvements from beginning to end, identifying areas for improvement, brainstorming and gaining consensus on solutions, managing change, and assessing improvement
- Lead multiple priorities and initiatives concurrently, balancing short-term needs with long-term goals effectively
- Serve as a strategic leader who mentors and empowers other leaders, fostering a cohesive and high-performing team that drives innovation, achieves strategic objectives, and cultivates a culture of continuous growth
- Manage and/or mentor employees and contingent workers, providing regular coaching, feedback, and training
What you'll need to succeed:
- Bachelor’s degree with two years of employment experience required. In lieu of a Bachelor’s degree, an Associate’s degree with four years of employment experience or a High School Diploma or GED equivalent with six years of employment experience required
- Must have valid driver’s license and ability to meet Latitude AI’s minimum driving record requirements, as verified by Motor Vehicle Record background checks prior to hire and periodically thereafter
- Ability to meet Latitude’s Vehicle Operator safety screening requirements, including drug screening and criminal background checks conducted prior to hire and periodically thereafter
- Enjoyment of driving for extended periods of time
- Adaptable to changing priorities and able to pivot quickly to meet operational challenges
- Experience in a professional work environment where safety, honesty, procedure and/or software testing are emphasized
- Skilled in managing and executing projects from start to finish with minimal guidance
- Effective communicator with strong verbal and written skills for delivering updates and training
- Ability to assess incoming priorities and schedule accordingly to meet operational demand
- Strong interest in technology and software and the ability to adapt to its ever-changing developments and improvements
- Strong desire to travel to remote offices and test facilities
Nice to have:
- Autonomous Vehicle and/or on-road data collection industry experience
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Jira basics
- Past managerial experience in a fast paced environment
