About the role

You'll join our engineering team as a MoTS with the speciality of Full Stack Product Engineer. You will work closely with our founders to build out products zero-to-one, make foundational technical design decisions, and own a large engineering scope. We're looking for someone who loves delivering great user experiences through elegant technical solutions.

In this role, you’ll collaborate closely with designers, product managers, front- and back-end engineers, and ML experts to architect and implement complex features, and drive best practices across the team. You will work with technologies including TypeScript, React, Postgres SQL, and more to deliver scalable and robust solutions.

Your first projects:

  1. Build an advanced system for aggregating, analyzing, presenting, and maintaining data about impactful research (e.g., open source projects, companies founded, papers published, etc.)
  2. Implement engaging web applications for collaborations with researchers at top universities (e.g., Terminal Bench, K Prize).

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop full stack web applications from the ground up.
  • Build intuitive frontend interfaces for complex data.
  • Map complex data to efficient database schemas and object storage.
  • Design and maintain APIs for seamless data retrieval and integration.
  • Optimize system performance for scalability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with data policies and industry best practices.
  • Use LLMs / AI models for novel solutions.
  • Automate data pipelines and development processes.

Required Qualifications:

  • Full stack development experience, including frontend (React, Vue.js, or similar), web application frameworks (Next.js) and backend (Node.js, Postgres, Supabase, etc).
  • Proficiency in TypeScript, SQL, web application architecture.
  • Experience with API development and integrations.
  • Use modern development tools and methodologies. Cursor, Copilot, automated workflows, etc.
  • Ability to work independently and solve complex challenges.
  • Ability and willingness to learn new technologies as needed. 
  • Work a hybrid schedule with at least two days per week in our Bay Area office (Menlo Park).

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with Python.
  • Experience with LLMs workflows and prompting.
