About the Position

As a Staff Software Engineer at Laudio, you'll play a pivotal role in shaping our technology and product development. Reporting directly to the Head of Product & Engineering, you'll work in a dynamic, fast-growing environment, building and iterating on our cloud-based platform using React, Node.js, and AWS.

Our team is globally distributed across the United States and Nepal, meaning cross-time-zone collaboration is key. While we strive for asynchronous work, some early morning meetings (7 AM ET) may be required.

This role is primarily remote, but we prefer candidates located on the East Coast for occasional in-person collaboration. Additionally, we host team retreats several times a year and offer opportunities to travel to Nepal (1-2 times per year) for deeper collaboration with our engineering team.

Responsibilities

As a Staff Software Engineer at Laudio, your responsibilities will include:

  • Architect Scalable Solutions - you’ll design, develop, and deploy software that is highly availability, low latency, and scalable.
  • Hands-on Coding - act as a key individual contributor, writing code across the full stack to drive our product and engineering roadmap forward. 
  • Mentor & Lead - foster a culture of learning by providing technical mentorship through code reviews and design discussions.
  • Innovate & Improve - continuously identify opportunities to enhance our technology and operational processes
  • Being Glue - contribute across multiple areas, including feature development, code optimization, infrastructure improvements, and troubleshooting production issues.

Qualifications

What we’re looking for:

  • 6-12 years of experience as a technical leader in software engineering
  • Proven ability to lead projects from ideation to implementation in an iterative, agile environment  
  • Strong hands on experience with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, and Typescript
  • Solid backend expertise with Node.js or Python
  • Strong database skills, including SQL performance tuning, schema design and relational database management 
  • Experience building cloud-native applications on platforms like AWS or Azure
  • Passion for writing high-quality, maintainable and scalable code 

Who you are:

  • Comfortable working with a wide range of technologies.
  • Capable of autonomous decision-making and self-direction.
  • Stay current with modern development best practices.
  • Experienced with CI/CD, automated testing, and feature flagging.
  • Skilled in designing and building distributed, scalable systems.

Bonus Points If You Have:

  • Experience integrating with HL7 or ADT feeds.
  • Background in an early-stage startup or SaaS company.
  • Previous remote work experience.
  • Experience with CRM-style tools or architecture.
  • Experience integrating LLMs into SaaS products.
  • Experience with Data Integrations

Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer in various environments with multiple distractions.
  • Must be able to travel.

Reports To: Head of Product & Engineering

Travel: 10-15%

Status: Full-time/Exempt
