Senior Systems Administrator

Overview: we are initiating an Operating System Transition program to upgrade and standardize its IT infrastructure. The Senior Systems Administrator will play a pivotal role in assessing the current environment, designing a migration plan, and leading the execution of OS upgrades across 300+ Windows servers and workstations.

 

Please note that 

  • This job will require your availability from Monday to Friday, 7.30 to 15.30 PST
  • Length of engagement estimated in 18 months
  • Estimated starting date: November 1st, 2024

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assess the current IT environment, focusing on operating systems and related infrastructure.
  • Develop a comprehensive migration plan for upgrading Windows servers and workstations.
  • Lead the execution of the OS transition, ensuring minimal disruption to business operations.
  • Collaborate with IT teams to identify and resolve potential issues during the migration process.
  • Provide ongoing support and maintenance post-migration.
  • Document the transition process and provide training as needed.

 

Qualifications:

  • Extensive experience in Windows administration and large-scale OS migrations.
  • Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and related technologies.
  • Proven ability to lead complex IT projects with minimal supervision.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
