This is a full-time role for a MERN Developer. The MERN Developer will be responsible for developing and maintaining marine software solutions using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js). The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams to innovate new features and ensuring the scalability, security, and performance of applications. The ideal candidate will have experience in both front-end and back-end development, as well as a passion for building efficient, user-friendly, and high-performing applications tailored for the maritime industry.

 

Main Responsibilities:

  • Full-Stack Development: Design, develop, test, and maintain web applications using the MERN stack (MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js) to create dynamic, responsive, and high-performance applications.

  • API Development & Integration: Build RESTful APIs to integrate with third-party services and data providers, ensuring seamless data flow between various systems and applications.

  • Front-End Development: Implement engaging and user-friendly interfaces using React, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, ensuring a responsive and intuitive user experience.

  • Back-End Development: Develop efficient back-end systems using Node.js and Express.js, handling database interactions, user authentication, and real-time data processing.

  • Database Management: Design and optimize database schemas in MongoDB, ensuring data integrity, scalability, and performance for large-scale applications.

  • Performance & Scalability: Monitor application performance, identify potential bottlenecks, and optimize code for scalability and speed to handle increasing amounts of traffic and data.

  • Security Best Practices: Implement security protocols to protect sensitive marine data and user information, ensuring compliance with industry standards.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with the product management, design, and other development teams to understand project requirements, participate in code reviews, and ensure timely delivery of high-quality software.

  • Troubleshooting & Bug Fixing: Identify, diagnose, and fix bugs and issues in both front-end and back-end code, ensuring minimal downtime and disruption.

  • Documentation & Version Control: Write and maintain technical documentation for development processes, codebases, and APIs. Utilize Git for version control to manage and track changes in code.

  • Innovation & Continuous Improvement: Stay updated with the latest industry trends, tools, and technologies. Proactively suggest improvements and new features to enhance the software solutions offered by Albatross Marine Inc.

 

Mandatory Requirements:

  • Proficiency in MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js (MERN stack)
  • Experience in developing and consuming RESTful APIs
  • Knowledge of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts clearly
  • Experience with version control systems like Git
  • Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Experience in the maritime industry or with marine software solutions is a plus
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
