We’re seeking an exceptional medical abstractor who is interested in working at the forefront of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, as an independent contractor.

Job Description

We’re looking for a part-time medical abstractor familiar with healthcare data and terminology, who will work as an independent contractor, to help annotate and label medical notes to evaluate our large language model algorithms. 

You can expect to:

  • Annotate medical notes, given specific guidelines, under the supervision of a board-certified physician
  • Review and annotate machine learning outputs
  • Work with our engineering team to pioneer the next generation of machine learning models to directly impact clinical care
  • Gain an appreciation for the opportunities and current limitations of machine learning  

We look for candidates who have/are:

  • Substantial experience reading and interpreting a large breadth of clinical notes across different specialties
  • At least 1 year experience with medical terminology (e.g. as a medical scribe, medical transcriptionist, medical coder, data abstractor, registered health information technician, etc.)
  • Comfortable with technology in a fast, innovative environment
  • A strong communicator who thrives in a fast-paced environment
  • A detail-oriented, proactive problem-solver with a strong sense of ownership and the ability to work independently
  • Able to work independently, cooperatively, and collaboratively as a team member
  • Currently living in the United States
  • Authorized to work in the United States and able to pass a background check.
  • Based on the East Coast (Eastern Standard Time), ideally in Boston

Commitment & Compensation:

  • Ability to work part-time as an independent contractor for ~20 hrs/week
