Overview:

The Lead Edge Analyst Program is a summer internship designed to provide meaningful exposure to the buy-side investment landscape during junior summer. Summer Analysts play an integral role in generating deal flow and evaluating potential investments, working closely with Senior Investment Partners and Associates. Throughout the internship, Analysts engage in numerous one-on-one conversations with entrepreneurs to help source new investment opportunities for the firm. When an Analyst identifies a promising opportunity, they become deeply involved in the diligence and evaluation process, contributing meaningfully to investment discussions and decision-making.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Perform market research and collaborate with LEC’s network to develop insights into various markets
  • Build and maintain relationships with founders and management teams through proactive sourcing efforts
  • Screen deals and support team members in conducting quantitative analyses, including financial modeling and retention analysis
  • Maintain a pipeline of investment opportunities to present to team members and senior leadership
  • Creating materials and analysis for evaluation by LEC’s investment committee
  • Performing financial modeling and valuation analysis
  • Monitor and support portfolio companies, providing operational insight

Requirements:

  • Strong interest in growth equity, and technology investing
  • Excellent analytical and critical-thinking skills; detail-oriented, proactive, and highly self-motivated
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships with entrepreneurs, founders, and teammates
  • Collaborative mindset and comfort working independently or on lean teams
  • Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient with the Microsoft Office suite
  • 3.5 GPA or higher
  • U.S. work authorization required

Compensation:

  • The budgeted base salary range is $100,000 pro-rated over the length of the internship.
