As an Associate Editor, you will help shape and deliver engaging health content that empowers members to improve their health outcomes. In this role, you’ll oversee a team of freelance writers, collaborate with cross-functional teams (content strategy, member growth marketing, product customer success, and R & D teams), and contribute your own writing to grow and enhance League’s content library.

You’ll manage and edit a portfolio of health programs, activities, and educational content within the League Health Journey. Our health content library is designed to help members move more, eat better, manage chronic conditions, and communicate more effectively with their healthcare teams. In this role, you will:

  • Oversee the full content lifecycle — from ideation and writing through editing, approval, and publication.
  • Write and edit engaging, medically accurate health content, translating complex research and expert insights into clear, actionable information.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with teams such as Member Behavior, Growth Marketing, Product, Sales, and Client Solutions to support content ideation, creation, activation, and measurement.
  • Integrate new product capabilities into content experiences to ensure seamless alignment between editorial and platform innovation.
  • Leverage data and analytics on member engagement to inform editorial strategy and content optimization.
  • Stay ahead of health and wellness trends, using your industry expertise to guide League’s content strategy and ensure comprehensive, relevant coverage.
  • Streamline workflows and schedules, managing meetings, resources, and deadlines across content initiatives.
  • Partner with marketing and content strategy teams to adapt and repurpose content for campaigns and member programs.
  • Utilize AI tools to enhance efficiency, consistency, and scalability in content creation processes.
  • Security-related responsibilities:
    • Compliance with Information Security Policies
    • Compliance with League’s secure coding practice
    • Responsibility and accountability for executing League's policies and procedures
    • Notification of HR, Legal, Compliance & Security of any incidents, breaches or policy violations

We're looking for:

  • BA or MA/MS in English, journalism, marketing, liberal arts, media or communications, or equivalent experience
  • Proven experience (3-5+ years) in editing, writing, or content management—MUST be in (e.g. medical research, scientific writing, health communications)
  • Exceptional editorial judgment and attention to detail, with a strong grasp of evidence-based health information and plain-language communication.
  • Experience managing freelance writers or editorial teams, with the ability to mentor, coach, and uphold high-quality standards.
  • Outstanding writing and editing skills, capable of translating complex health concepts into clear, engaging, and actionable content.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with experience working cross-functionally across marketing, product, and clinical or health-related teams.
  • Analytical mindset, using data and performance insights to inform content strategy and improve engagement.
  • Comfort with digital tools and AI technologies, using them to streamline editorial workflows and enhance content efficiency.
  • A passion for improving health outcomes, empowering individuals to make informed choices and take meaningful action toward their well-being.
