We are looking for a creative and driven Midweight Product Designer to join our design team. In this role, you will work on a wide range of product design challenges, from research and concept ideation to high-fidelity design execution. The ideal candidate will have a strong eye for detail, an understanding of user-centred design principles, and the ability to collaborate effectively with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to deliver outstanding product experiences.

About the Role

As a midweight Product Designer, you'll join our dynamic team to deliver high-quality design solutions on projects while growing your expertise in both Visual Design and Experience Design, under the guidance of a senior practitioner. You'll play a vital role in crafting thoughtful design deliverables, contributing to our commitment to creating purposeful, human-centred products.

Accountabilities

Design Delivery

  • Create intuitive and engaging product designs, from wireframes to high-fidelity, interactive prototypes, for web and mobile platforms.
  • Develop and iterate on design concepts based on user feedback, business goals, and technical constraints, ensuring usability, accessibility, and consistency.
  • Translate solutions into tangible design artefacts using common design patterns, established brand guidelines, and service flows.
  • Contribute to design systems to ensure consistency across products, advocating for best practices in design standards.
  • Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to continuously refine design solutions.
  • Utilise tools like Figma and Miro for efficient design creation, prototyping, and collaboration.

Collaboration and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Work closely in cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and designers, to deliver cohesive design solutions aligned with business and user needs.
  • Participate in and help facilitate workshops, sketching sessions, and brainstorming activities to generate and refine product ideas.
  • Present design solutions to project teams and clients, clearly articulating how they meet business, user, and technical requirements.
  • Provide constructive feedback to peers and mentor junior designers, supporting their growth and the overall quality of design deliverables.

Human-Centered Design

  • Support user research activities, such as interviews, surveys, and usability testing, to gather insights and validate design solutions.
  • Analyse user feedback, behavior data, and analytics to inform iterative design improvements and ensure designs meet user needs.
  • Create and leverage user flows, journey maps, and personas to guide design decisions and enhance user experiences.

Design Impact

  • Collaborate with product teams to define success metrics and evaluate the impact of design solutions through data-driven insights.
  • Design with accessibility in mind, ensuring products meet relevant standards (e.g. WCAG) and are inclusive of diverse user needs.
  • Incorporate interaction design principles and micro-interactions to create seamless, engaging user experiences.

Continuous Learning and Community Contribution

  • Stay current with industry trends, emerging technologies, and design tools to continuously enhance design skills and processes.
  • Actively participate in design critiques, training sessions, and team discussions to contribute to collective growth and innovation.
  • Engage in Design Community initiatives and contribute to internal projects, supporting the vision and growth of the design practice.
  • Collaborate with your line manager to define and achieve career goals aligned with personal aspirations and business objectives.

About You

You're a detail-oriented designer with a passion for creating user-centred design solutions. You excel at taking solutions to a problem and translating them using common design patterns, established brand guideline components, or common service flows. You thrive in collaborative environments, generating multiple solutions and choosing the most appropriate based on a user-focused rationale. The design artefacts you supply are usable, accessible, and consistent down to the letter, fact, and pixel. Your ability to adapt to various design challenges and your eagerness to learn and grow make you an ideal candidate for our Product Designer role.

You Should Have

  • A portfolio showcasing your design thinking skills and previous projects.
  • Experience in creating UX design artefacts and high-fidelity designs for digital products.
  • Collaborated with other designers and/or developers in previous projects.
  • An understanding of design systems, brand guidelines, user flows, and wireframing.
  • Experience in combining new and existing components of a design system.
  • Previous employment as a Designer in an established Design team.
  • Confidence in sharing design rationale with team members.
  • Experience in Figma, Miro or similar design tools.
  • Eagerness to learn and grow.

Ideally Also

  • Understanding of web/mobile technologies.
  • Ability to communicate rationale that considers business, user, and technical requirements.
  • Examples of visual assets such as illustrations, iconography and pictograms.
  • Experience with Agile, Sprints, and Lean UX methodologies.
  • Familiarity with research methods and designing with available insights.

Passion for excellence and attention to detail, self-motivated, proactive, enthusiastic and driven with the ability to motivate others.

Qualifications & Skills Required

  • Experience in product design, UX/UI design, or a related field.
  • Strong portfolio showcasing your design process, problem-solving skills, and polished design solutions.
  • Proficiency in design tools such as Figma, Miro, or similar.
  • Solid understanding of UX/UI principles, interaction design, and visual design.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, agile environment.
  • Exposure to user research methods such as surveys or user testing.
  • Strong attention to detail, with the ability to balance creativity with practicality.

Bonus Skills:

  • Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) is a plus.
  • Experience with animation or motion design tools.
  • Experience with user research methods and the ability to translate findings into actionable design improvements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Fine Arts, or a related field.
