Senior Corporate Accountant

We’re seeking a new Senior Corporate Accountant to join our San Francisco-area-based accounting team. We’re a global organization, and you will play a key role in our accounting operations and financial closes, including preparing reporting packages, performing account reconciliations, assisting with consolidations and intercompany entries, maintaining the general ledger, supporting audits, and performing other accounting functions as assigned.

This role is a hybrid position that meets once per week at the Redwood City HQ location to foster professional development, improve communications and coordination, and improve processes. 

Here are some ways you’ll make an impact:

  • Perform accounting functions, including, but not limited to, recording, reconciling, and analyzing G/L account transactions for areas such as cash and investments, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, intercompany, leases, and internal-use software
  • Play an integral part in the month-end close process by booking journal entries, preparing account reconciliations, conducting flux analysis, and coordinating close timelines with the finance team at large.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams at international subsidiaries to support our global accounting operations.
  • Support treasury operations, including coordinating creating/closing bank accounts, preparing cash transactions such as wires, ACHs and transfers, and preparing bank reconciliations, and ensuring bank accounts are reconciled, ideally weekly
  • Support the preparation of consolidated financial statements and management reports
  • Prepare intercompany entries and reconcile balances. Track and report intercompany activities and FX-related impacts for financial reporting in accordance with US GAAP, board and capital management purposes
  • Ensure intercompany agreement terms are adhered to and settlements are prepared accurately and timely
  • Support the annual external audit process, including both the readiness and execution, including preparation of supporting audit schedules
  • Tackle ad hoc projects as requested (e.g. research and document issues, special projects, lease accounting, software capitalization, etc.)
  • Assist in developing and maintaining the company’s accounting policies and procedures as we expand
  • Work closely alongside the Director of Accounting and Corporate Accounting Manager to develop and refine key accounting processes as the company continues to scale.
  • Support process automation and improvement; drive the design and implementation of finance systems changes

Are you our next Senior Corporate Accountant?

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, or equivalent
  • 3+ years accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP and financial reporting
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills with the expertise and knowledge when to escalate appropriately
  • Capable of working independently and managing multiple priorities; must be a self-starter who takes initiative in and ownership of completing projects and assignments timely
  • Hands-on experience with ERPs (NetSuite strongly preferred) and other accounting systems. Strong interest in and ability to support report customization, system maintenance, and system/process automation and improvements.
  • Able to work hybrid in our Redwood City HQ office

The base pay for this position is dependent on multiple factors, including candidate experience and expertise, and may vary from the amounts listed below. You may also be eligible to participate in our bonus program and may be offered an equity award, benefits, and other types of compensation.

In accordance with California law, the base salary for this role if filled within SF Bay Area, California is as follows.

$121,000 - $163,000 USD
