
2026 Camp Counselor Aide (Seasonal Position)
Compensation: $17.00–$20.00 per hour (based on experience)
Program Dates: June 29 – August 7
Schedule:
Weeks 1–2 (June 29–July 10): 11:00 AM–4:45 PM
- Weeks 3–5 (July 13–August 7): 7:15 AM–4:45 PM
Weekly Hours: Average of 40 hours/week across the full program

Position Summary
LEEP Dual Language Academy Charter School is seeking energetic, reliable, and caring Associate Camp Counselor to support our K-5 program. This is a temporary seasonal employee position responsible for assisting with daily operations, student supervision, enrichment activities, and transitions throughout the school day. Associate Camp Counselor play an essential role in ensuring a safe, joyful, and engaging summer experience for all students.
Key Responsibilities
- Support group leaders and counselors in supervising children during classroom activities, enrichment sessions, outdoor play, and field trips.
- Assist with transitions, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, and breaks between activities.
- Promote safe, positive play and help maintain a structured, supportive environment.
- Reinforce school expectations and support student behavior using Responsive Classroom practices (training provided).
- Help prepare and organize materials for enrichment activities, games, and special events.
- Monitor student safety at all times and report concerns promptly to program leadership.
- Model and uphold LEEP Academy’s’ core values—love, respect, courage, gratitude, and joy—in all interactions with students, families, and staff.
- Assist with general program operations as needed to ensure smooth daily functioning.
Required Qualifications
- Must be 18 years or older
- Must successfully pass a fingerprinting background check (fees covered LEEP)
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work scheduled hours consistently
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team
- Comfortable supervising groups of children in a fast‑paced environment
- Positive attitude, flexibility, and a commitment to student safety
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children (camp, after‑school, tutoring, youth programs, babysitting, etc.)
- Bilingual in Spanish/English
- High energy and enthusiasm for youth development
- Interest in education, recreation, social work, or related fields
- Ability to lead games, activities, or enrichment sessions (arts, sports, STEM, etc.)
