Technology Coordinator
Legal Services NYC (LSNYC) fights poverty and seeks racial, social and economic justice for low-income New Yorkers. For over 50 years, we have challenged systemic injustices that trap people in poverty and provided legal services that help our clients meet basic needs for housing, income and economic security, family and immigration stability, education, and health care. LSNYC is the largest civil legal services provider in the country; our staff of more than 600 people in neighborhood-based offices and outreach sites across all five boroughs helps hundreds of thousands of New Yorkers annually. We partner with scores of community-based and client-run organizations, elected officials, public agencies, pro bono lawyers, and the courts to maximize our effectiveness. The Opportunity
LSNYC is seeking a full-time Technology Coordinator to lead and support significant technology initiatives across field operations and administration. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in managing technology-driven projects, improving business processes, and enhancing legal service delivery through innovative solutions. The Technology Coordinator will report directly to the IT Director, and will principally work out of LSNYC’s Central Office in lower Manhattan. Periodic work will be done in all boroughs of New York City. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on LSNYC’s technology landscape while supporting access to justice through innovation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management & Implementation: Work under the direction of the IT application director and CIO to manage projects or work items (assigned by them) which can be part of a bigger project. The person must have some business analysis, project coordination/management background and some development experience. The candidate should be comfortable in constantly learning new technology.
- Technology Research & Development: Analyze, propose, and implement technology-related projects that enhance service delivery and administrative functions. The candidate must have programming knowledge and background to perform simple hands-on configuration and development work if needed although the majority of the development is done by vendors. However, the candidate must have the technical ability to own and manage the application once it has been developed and handed over by the vendors.
- Technology Leadership: Provide strategic direction in developing and deploying technologies that improve legal work and organizational efficiency. Work under the direction of the application development director and be able to provide feasible and effective technical solutions to problems. Ability to work in AI driven initiatives and process automation tools. Have an in-depth understanding of modern technology and the different integration frameworks. Ability to work in cloud technology and have a good understanding of the cloud architecture.
- Process Improvement: Identify and implement technology solutions to optimize LSNYC’s business processes. Ability to analyze an existing process and identify problems. Work under the Director to come up with solutions to improve the process.
- Telecommunications Coordination: Oversee telecommunications development needs for borough-specific and citywide initiatives.
- Training & Documentation: Develop protocols, training materials, and best practices for technology initiatives.
- Document & Knowledge Management: Support efforts to enhance organizational knowledge-sharing and document management systems.
- Committee Support: Actively participate in and support LSNYC’s internal and external committees on technology-related matters.
Qualifications & Experience:
Qualifications include:
- 10+ years of experience in technology development and management.
- Hands-on experience in .Net, PHP, SharePoint preferred. At least one required.
- Experience required on API integration with enterprise level applications.
- Knowledge on MS suite specially EXCEL required. Knowledge on Canva preferred.
- Experience with cloud technologies like AWS and Azure preferred.
- Some experience preferred on co-pilot integration with MS tools and custom apps.
- Ability to learn and adapt with new technology specially in AI and process automation tools.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education in software development/programming.
- Proven track record of implementing technology initiatives that drive organizational improvement.
- Excellent communication, training, and stakeholder management skills.
Work Schedule, Salary, and Benefits:
Legal Services NYC is open weekdays. Some evening hours and ability to respond to emergency calls or pages are required. Salary is based on experience and pursuant to a Collective Bargaining Agreement, with excellent benefits and generous leave time.
Salary range based on experience:
- 1-10 years: $68,458- $95,110
- 11-20 years: $97,489 - $119,858
- 21+ years: $121,657 - $130,880
Dependent on work history and experience.
