Position Overview
|
Join Legato Security in a leadership position where you'll spearhead the development of an innovative new product in our startup environment.
As a key leader at Legato, you'll have significant influence over our product direction, team development, and technical architecture. You'll apply both your leadership acumen and technical expertise to build secure, polished products that directly address customer needs.

Specific Job Responsibilities
|
- Lead end-to-end software development lifecycle
- Drive technical decisions through architectural reviews, design reviews, code reviews, post-mortems, and detailed software specifications
- Define and communicate product technical strategy and details effectively across disciplines.
- Work consultatively with architects and developers to help them take ownership of a solution architecture while serving as a resource for guidance and mentoring
- Manage a team of 4 to 10 software engineers by providing them with clear technical direction, addressing roadblocks, and developing their careers
- Participate in code reviews to ensure code quality, maintainability, security, scalability, and adherence to coding standards
- Ensure that all software development processes incorporate robust security measures to protect against vulnerabilities and threats
- Provide training and resources to the development team to enhance their understanding of secure coding practices and cybersecurity awareness
- Maintain comprehensive documentation of security policies, procedures, and protocols related to software development
- Drive software quality, implement observability, and comply with best practices for builds and deployment to ensure the quality and reliability of our platform
- Write code when necessary for Legato systems, and work with the development team to improve our products by conveying feedback to developers, reviewing designs, and testing new features
- Ensure best practices and patterns are being implemented for Legato cloud products
- Partner with cross-functional teams (product, design, security, compliance, customer success, etc.) to bring ideas to life
- Handle critical, time-sensitive incidents of high impact to the company and perform post-mortem to analyze gaps and identify optimizations to products, policies and processes

Qualifications
|
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience in Computer Science / Software Engineering
- 5+ years of engineering team leadership experience
- 3+ years of designing or architecting (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience.
- 5+ years of product development or software engineering experience, ideally in JavaScript frameworks such as Angular, React, or Node.js
- Former experience as a software developer
- A demonstrable ability to lead and mentor engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation
- Experience developing and delivering applications based on the Google Cloud Platform (or other cloud platforms)
- Provide a solid understanding of delivery methodology and lead teams in the implementation of the solution according to the design/architecture
- Experience leading projects from architectural design to production, while setting and maintaining high standards of technical excellence across your team
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to influence both technical and non-technical stakeholders
