Legend Biotech is seeking a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer as part of the IT team based in Somerset, NJ. 

Role Overview

Join our dynamic team as a Sr. Business Intelligence Engineer, where you will leverage your extensive experience in Microsoft Power BI, Reporting, and Analytics to drive data-informed decision-making processes. We are committed to developing and optimizing robust BI solutions that empower our business functions.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Business Intelligence Development: Create and maintain high-quality reports, visualizations, and dashboards using Power BI and Tableau tailored to diverse business needs.
  • Data Modeling: Develop and optimize scalable data models in Snowflake Data Warehouse to support analytics and reporting requirements.
  • Power BI Expertise: Utilize advanced Power BI DAX development skills to create complex measures and calculated columns. Manage and maintain Power BI Gateway server to publish and maintain schemas across multiple dashboards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Engage with data engineers, analysts, and business users to gather and translate data requirements into actionable insights and solutions.
  • Performance Optimization: Ensure the reliability, performance, and scalability of BI tools and reports.
  • Documentation: Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of BI solutions, data models, and workflows.
  • Consultative Approach: Operate with a consulting mindset, identifying opportunities for improving client processes and expanding engagement scope.
  • Stakeholder Management: Comfortable working with business stakeholders in a group setting to understand dashboards/analytical requirements and translate them into business requirements and functional specifications documents.
  • Global Collaboration: Ability to work effectively with vendor teams and global teams, as well as business stakeholders in the US and EU regions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, Data Science, or a related field. Master’s degree in similar fields preferred.
  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in business intelligence development using exclusively Power BI, analytics, and with Databases, Data warehouses and Data Lakes.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience with Snowflake, SQL Server, and Tableau.
  • Strong experience with Power BI DAX development and Power BI Gateway server management.
  • Strong SQL skills and understanding of database design and optimization.
  • Experience in Pharma/Biotech or consulting environments is highly desirable.
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages such as Python for advanced analytics or automation.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based data infrastructure and services.
  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.
