Legend Biotech is seeking Workday Project Manager (Contractor) as part of the IT team based in Somerset, NJ. 

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Contractor Project Manager to lead the implementation of Workday HR modules, including HCM, Onboarding, Benefits, Absence, Payroll (US), and Time Tracking. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing Workday projects using Workday Launch Methodology and possess strong project management, leadership, and communication skills.

The successful candidate will have experience working as a Client Project Manager, effectively coordinating between business stakeholders and the Workday implementation partner to ensure seamless execution and delivery. Additionally, they will be responsible for coordinating with business leads on prerequisite projects, including Job Architecture, Organizational Structure, Data Collection, and Data Migration.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Lead and manage the end-to-end implementation of Workday HR modules (HCM, Onboarding, Benefits, Absence, Payroll for US, and Time Tracking).
  • Serve as the primary client-side Project Manager, coordinating between internal business stakeholders and the Workday implementation partner to ensure project alignment and progress.
  • Develop and maintain a detailed project plan, including scope, timeline, resource planning, and document management.
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including HR, Payroll, IT, and business leaders, to ensure alignment on project objectives and deliverables.
  • Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to define requirements, configure modules, and perform testing and data migration.
  • Work closely with business leads to manage and align prerequisite projects such as, Job Architecture, Organizational Structure, Data migration etc.
  • Monitor project progress, identify potential risks, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful and timely implementation.
  • Conduct regular project status meetings, steer co’s and provide updates to senior management and stakeholders.
  • Ensure adherence to Workday Launch Methodology and best practices throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Manage change management, training, and user adoption initiatives to ensure a smooth transition to the new system.
  • Oversee data integrity, testing, and validation processes to ensure the accuracy and reliability of HR data.
  • Prepare comprehensive project documentation, including status reports, risk logs, and lessons learned.
  • Manage the deployment cutover and go-live preparation to ensure a smooth and successful system launch.
  • Manage post-implementation support and transition to operations teams.

Requirements 

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Human Resources, or a related field.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum 10+ years of project management experience, with a focus on HR technology implementations.
    • Proven experience in managing Workday implementations, particularly for HR modules.
    • Demonstrated experience as a Client Project Manager, coordinating between business stakeholders and external Workday implementation partners.
    • Strong understanding of Workday Launch Methodology.
  • Skills and Competencies:
    • Demonstrated expertise in project management, including planning, execution, and delivery within scope and budget.
    • Excellent problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making skills.
    • Strong communication and stakeholder management abilities.
    • Familiarity with HR business processes and data migration best practices.
    • Proficiency with project management tools (e.g., MS Project, Smartsheet, JIRA).
  • Certifications:
    • Project Management Professional (PMP) or equivalent is preferred.
    • Workday Project Management certification is a plus.
  • Personal Attributes:
    • Proactive and results-driven approach.
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a project-based environment.
    • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
