Legend Biotech entered into a global collaboration agreement with Janssen, one of the pharmaceutical companies of Johnson & Johnson, to jointly develop and commercialize ciltacabtagene autolecuel (cilta-cel). Our strategic partnership is designed to combine the strengths and expertise of both companies to advance the promise of an immunotherapy in the treatment of multiple myeloma.

 


Legend Biotech is seeking Buyer/ Planner Specialist as part of the Technical Operations team based in Raritan, NJ. 

Role Overview

This individual will work within Technical Operations responsible for executing plans supporting Raritan end-to-end Supply Chain, as well as supporting Procurement execution activities – inclusive of Purchase Order (PO) creation and management, cost analysis, inventory and vendor management – in accordance with company policies and site-specific procedures.
The position requires in-depth knowledge of ERP systems in a Manufacturing/Supply Chain environment, strong analytical and advanced Excel skills with the ability to quickly analyze data and re-balance inventories supporting manufacturing activities to provide an optimal service level and performance.

Key Responsibilities  

  • Interpret and analyze demand and usage of various materials including (but not limited to) critical supplies, clinical materials, components and consumables.
  • Develop, maintain and actively manage relationships with key strategic suppliers to optimize total cost of ownership.
  • Participate in regular Site Supply Chain / Planning meetings (e.g. S&OP and LRP) to evaluate manufacturing plans to ensure inventory coverage and supply readiness.
  • Monitor supplier execution and deliverables of goods and services aligned with scope of work and/or PO’s.
  • Support the procurement process by maintaining accurate open purchase order listing, un-invoiced receipt amounts, supplier documentation and statements.
  • Monitor product life cycles and alert appropriate team members to any actionable inventory requirements and disruption to supply.
  • Maintain system planning parameters (e.g. lot size, lead-time and safety stock levels) within the site ERP.
  • Assist with the development of investigations and root cause analyses on any supply disruptions or material quality related issues.
  • Support Quality, Regulatory and Financial audits.
  • Provide timely responses to business units’ representative(s) and suppliers' inquiries.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of standard operating procedures, work instructions and training materials.

Requirements

  • Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Finance, Accounting or Business.
  • A minimum of 3 years relevant Supply Chain and Procurement experience is required.
  • Experience in Pharma or Biologics manufacturing / Supply Chain is highly preferred.
  • SAP – Advanced Supply Chain Planning is highly preferred.
  • Ability to work independently and successfully, prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, integrate cross-functional issues and balance competing priorities effectively. Must be able to manage shifting priorities to meet critical deadlines in a fast paced and dynamic, growing environment.
  • Strength in communicating and working effectively with broad stakeholders in various scientific/technical/business disciplines.
  • Very strong influencing capabilities with an ability to interact and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and across different functions.
  • Ability to promote a mindset of continuous improvement, problem solving, and prevention.
  • Technologically savvy with the ability to quickly adopt new systems and processes. Proficient in Excel (Pivot Tables and Advanced Analytics), Word, Visio, and exposure to ERP and other financial accounting systems.
  • Ability to accommodate shift work including evenings and weekends as required by operational needs.

Deliverable #1

  • Creates, monitors and owns the Inventory Planning and Coverage, inclusive of execution of all MRP related tasks and transactions (e.g. PR, PO, STO, etc.) for the Raritan Supply Planning operations teams. 
  • Ensures data accuracy (planning & materials planning data elements), monitors supply deliveries and lead times, and support site users with respect to S/4 Planning and Inventory activities.
  • Analyzes material coverage, purchase price variations and partners with Procurement to monitor adherence to pricing agreements and conditions
  • Success Metrics/Milestones
    • On-Time PR/PO creation: Within 24 hours from request (Turn-around time).
    • Material Coverage (against Supply Forecast): Sustain >85% on all direct materials.
    • Data accuracy: Supplier / Material / Service / Pricing Conditions.
    • Enforces business practices and processes in alignment with site Planning operations policies and procedures.
    • Ability to work independently, balancing priorities and taking ownership.
  • Timeline: 0 – 30 days from start → Daily activity.
  • Weight:  50%

Deliverable #2

  • Supplier life-cycle and performance management evaluation.
  • Supports supplier creation and supplier info records maintenance – Includes assistance with collecting and maintaining supplier records [e.g. W-9, ACH, Credit Applications, Contracts, etc.] and required supplier qualification assessments (SQA).
  • Collaborates cross-functionally to identify operational efficiencies.
  • Success Metrics/Milestones
    • In collaboration with the Business Units, monitors delivery of materials, services and/or fixed assets – Maintains open PO list and check accruals/balances.
    • Monitors supplier contract/agreements expiration and proactively initiates activities to remain in compliance [e.g. Sourcing events, contract extension, etc.].
    • Support Sourcing & Procurement team on implementing supplier performance metrics [e.g. Assurance of Supply, Quality, Service, Cost & Innovation] and develop dashboards/reports.
    • Builds and maintains trustful, effective and long-term supplier and business units relationships.
    • Understands internal structure (Organization, Processes and Technology).
  • Timeline: 30 – 60 days from start
  • Weight: 25%

Deliverable #3

  • Policy & Procedures Training, Communications.
  • Assists with the development, modification and/or implementation of new policies and procedures within Sourcing & Procurement.
  • Drives change management and develop training materials and internal communications as required.
  • Enforces --Building and maintaining Supplier Relationships (Direct/Indirect).
  • Success Metrics/Milestones
    • Monitors policy and procedures expiration and assists Sourcing & Procurement with deployment of updates/changes.
    • Drive stakeholder training and develop communication plans.
    • Has ability to effectively communicate, leverages on presentation decks and training materials and understand the business units needs & strategies.
    • Timeline: 60 – 90 days from start
    • Weight: 10%

Deliverable #4

  • S/4 HANA (SAP) Material/Service/Supplier Maintenance.
  • Supports data maintenance: Creation, Modification, Deletion for critical Sourcing & Procurement data elements.
  • Success Metrics/Milestones
    • Drives data accuracy and compliance by maintaining Info records, source lists, material management, RFQ and contracts.
    • Meet assigned data maintenance timelines and special projects to ensure SAP P2P flawless operations.
  • Timeline: 30 – 60 days from start

The anticipated base pay range is:

$70,671 - $92,757 USD

  4. Remedies for Breach. I acknowledge that in the event of any breach of this Agreement, the Company will not have an adequate remedy in money or damages, and therefore the Company shall be entitled to obtain temporary, preliminary and/or permanent injunctive relief to redress any such breach, from any court of competent jurisdiction, and that the Company’s right to obtain such relief shall not limit its right to obtain other available remedies.
  5. General. The interpretation and enforcement of this Agreement shall be governed by the laws of the State of California.  This Agreement constitutes the entire agreement between the parties concerning the subject matters hereof; it supersedes any and all prior agreements or representations, written or oral, with respect to its subject matters; and it cannot be modified except in a written agreement signed by the Company.
