Technical Writer with Pendo Expertise – Workforce Management Product Documentation

JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled Technical Writer with a unique blend of documentation expertise and Pendo proficiency to create and enhance Workforce Management (WFM) product documentation for our customers. In this role, you will be responsible for developing clear, comprehensive, and user-friendly product documentation while leveraging Pendo to track product adoption, usage patterns, and create in-app tours that empower users.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES

  • Technical Documentation: Create, edit, and maintain high-quality documentation for our WFM products, including user guides, API documentation, and release notes. Ensure that all documentation is accurate, thorough, and accessible for a diverse customer base.

  • Product Adoption: Use advanced Pendo skills to track product usage and adoption, analyze insights, and create targeted in-app messaging and guides. Collaborate with Product Management and Customer Success to understand customer behavior and develop content that improves engagement.

  • Product Tours and In-App Documentation: Design and implement in-app product tours, walkthroughs, and tooltips in Pendo to guide users through new features.

  • Collaboration with Product Teams: Work closely with Product Management, Engineering, and UX/UI teams to gather technical information and ensure documentation aligns with the latest product releases and updates.

  • Customer Feedback Analysis: Regularly review customer feedback on documentation and in-product guidance. Use insights to make continuous improvements to product content, ensuring that documentation evolves with customer needs and product changes.

REQUIRED SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Technical Writing, Communications, or a related field.

  • 3+ years of experience as a Technical Writer, preferably in SaaS or software products.

  • Proven experience with Pendo, including creating guides, in-app messaging, and analytics to monitor product adoption and usage patterns.

  • Strong skills in creating end-user documentation, product tours, and release notes.

  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into simple, accessible language.

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.

  • High attention to detail, a proactive approach to problem-solving, and a commitment to improving customer experience.

  • Knowledge of WFM or similar enterprise products is a plus.

  • Strong collaboration skills and demonstrated ability to work effectively with remote cross-functional teams.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS AND ATTRIBUTES

  • Basic understanding of programming concepts and experience with API documentation

How We Determine What We Pay

As a fully remote employer, Legion determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data. We evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company. Our posted salary range is based on national data and may be refined for a candidate's region/town/cost of living. For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s location, level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
