Compliance Analyst

Charlotte, NC, United States; Remote

Location:

  • Preferred: Charlotte, with an expectation to work in-office 2–3 days per week.
  • Remote: Open to remote candidates; however, occasional travel to Charlotte may be required.

The Position

The Compliance Analyst will serve as a key member of LendingTree’s Compliance team within the Legal department. This role requires a strong understanding of internal control frameworks, regulatory requirements, and demonstrated experience in compliance testing and monitoring.

The primary responsibility of this position is to perform ongoing monitoring and testing activities to evaluate the effectiveness of internal controls and ensure alignment with applicable laws, regulations, internal policies, and industry standards across LendingTree’s line of business. The Compliance Analyst will identify potential compliance risks, control deficiencies, and document detect trends or patterns in control failures and recommend corrective actions to mitigate risk and enhance control effectiveness.

In addition, this role will manage and track escalated customer complaints, ensuring timely and thorough resolution while leveraging insights to identify emerging issues and drive continuous process improvements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform compliance testing and monitoring activities in accordance with the annual compliance testing plan.
  • Document test results, supporting evidence, and identified issues in a clear and consistent format.
  • Validate corrective actions to confirm issues have been remediated appropriately.
  • Maintain organized records of testing results and workpapers to support internal and regulatory reviews.
  • Prepare summaries of findings and assist with drafting monitoring and testing reports.
  • Escalate potential compliance concerns to Compliance Director for review.
  • Support ongoing enhancements to the Compliance Management Program.
  • Stay current on relevant regulatory requirements and compliance best practices.
  • Suggest process improvements to strengthen control environments and testing efficiency.
  • Manage escalated consumer complaints, identify recurring trends, and assess themes to enhance business practices and improve customer experience.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, legal studies, finance, marketing, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • 3–5 years of experience in a compliance, legal, or marketing review role within a banking or fintech organization. Exposure to compliance testing preferred.
  • Basic understanding of financial regulations (e.g., UDAAP, ECOA, FCRA, GLBA) and compliance principles.
  • Familiarity with compliance management program, testing frameworks, or audit methodologies is a plus.
  • Demonstrated experience tracking, analyzing, and reporting customer complaints with a data-driven approach.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, with the ability to interact with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to guide decision-making, with attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Proven ability to adapt to a fast-paced, continuously evolving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong organizational skills and a proactive mindset; a self-starter capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities under tight deadlines.
  • Flexibility to take on new responsibilities to support emerging processes, innovations, and business needs.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
