Job Description:
We are seeking a Collateral Analyst to support the secure and accurate movement of loan collateral throughout the full lifecycle of our DSCR loans—from origination through funding, warehouse, and final investor sale. This role will track, validate, and reconcile loan documents and pledged collateral across multiple counterparties, ensuring compliance, minimizing risk, and maintaining a high standard of operational excellence.
The ideal candidate is a meticulous document tracker, systems thinker, and operational problem-solver who understands how critical clean, complete, and timely collateral is to the health of our lending platform.
Key Responsibilities:
Collateral Tracking & Documentation
- Monitor and manage the movement of collateral and loan documents throughout the loan lifecycle (origination, funding, warehousing, investor sale)
- Track key collateral items—such as mortgage notes, assignments, title policies, and insurance docs—ensuring they are accurate, complete, and received on time
- Maintain real-time visibility into collateral status across all counterparties including borrowers, warehouse banks, custodians, and investors
Data Reconciliation & Compliance
- Reconcile collateral records in internal systems (e.g., LOS, SharePoint) with warehouse and investor data
- Identify and resolve missing or deficient documents before settlement deadlines
- Ensure ongoing compliance with warehouse facility terms and investor eligibility criteria
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Closing, Post-Closing, Capital Markets, and Legal teams to streamline document flows and reduce friction
- Support internal reporting and audits related to collateral, investor packages, and documentation trails
- Contribute to the development of operational processes that reduce risk and improve execution
Reporting & Risk Oversight
- Prepare regular reports on document exceptions, collateral completeness, and pipeline status
- Support valuation, mark-to-market, and investor readiness workflows as needed
- Assist in assembling data tapes and supporting materials for loan sales and securitizations
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of experience in collateral management, post-closing, loan operations, or warehouse lending
- Strong understanding of real estate lending, particularly DSCR or business-purpose mortgages
- High attention to detail with a proactive mindset for spotting issues before they become problems
- Proficiency in Excel and loan origination or collateral tracking systems
- Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
Preferred Qualifications:
- Familiarity with warehouse lending and capital markets operations
- Experience working with custodians, servicers, or institutional loan buyers
- Knowledge of legal and compliance requirements related to mortgage collateral
