Human Resources Coordinator

Raleigh, NC

At Levitate, we’re on a mission to make a real impact - for our customers, our team, and the world around us. We believe the best work comes from people who are curious, driven, and excited to grow. Our five core values guide everything we do, and we look for teammates who embody the traits that make those values come to life:

Creating Magic ✨ You have the persistence and grit to turn ambitious ideas into remarkable outcomes.

Showing Customer Empathy ❤️ You bring humble confidence, listening deeply, and putting customers first.

Making Data-Driven Decisions 📊 You pair creativity with insights to make smarter, faster choices.

Focusing on Solutions, Not Problems 🔍 You approach challenges with positivity and critical thinking, always looking for the way forward.

Making Small Improvements Every Day 🌱 You embrace coachability and lean into discomfort to grow, improve, and drive lasting change.

Here, you won’t just do a job, you’ll help create meaningful experiences, solve real problems, and shape the future of our company.

We are looking for a detail-oriented and people-first HR Coordinator to join our team. In this role, you will be the operational backbone of our People function — owning the day-to-day administrative processes that shape the employee experience from day one through offboarding. You'll work closely with HR leadership, managers, and employees to ensure our people programs run smoothly and compliantly.

Responsibilities

Onboarding

  • Own and execute all new hire administrative paperwork, including employment agreements, tax forms, direct deposit setup, and policy acknowledgments
  • Enter and maintain new hire data in the HRIS, ensuring accuracy and completeness before day one
  • Coordinate logistics with IT, Facilities, and hiring managers to ensure workspace, equipment, and system access are ready on day one
  • Serve as the primary administrative point of contact for new employees during their first weeks, answering questions and ensuring all required documentation is completed on time
  • Maintain, update, and continuously improve onboarding checklists, templates, process documentation, and new hire portals

Benefits Administration

  • Assist with administering employee benefits programs, including health, dental, vision, 401(k), and ancillary offerings
  • Process enrollments, changes, and terminations in a timely and accurate manner
  • Support annual open enrollment, including employee communications and system updates

HR Operations & Compliance

  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date employee records in the HRIS
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
  • Support audits and reporting requests by pulling data and preparing documentation
  • Track and maintain I-9 records and ensure timely completion for all new hires

Offboarding

  • Manage the end-to-end offboarding process, including coordinating final day logistics, equipment returns, and system access terminations
  • Compile exit interview feedback for company leadership
  • Process terminations in the HRIS and coordinate with Payroll on final pay

General HR Support

  • Respond to employee inquiries regarding HR policies, procedures, and programs
  • Assist with drafting and updating HR policies, employee handbooks, and internal communications
  • Support recruiting coordination as needed (scheduling interviews, managing candidate communications)
  • Contribute to HR projects and initiatives as the team and company scale

Qualifications

  • 1–3 years of experience in an HR, People Operations, or administrative support role
  • Hands-on experience with BambooHR strongly preferred; familiarity with other HRIS platforms (e.g., Rippling, Workday) is a plus
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
  • A proactive, service-oriented mindset — you enjoy helping people and solving problems
  • Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices

Nice to Have

  • HR certification (PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent) or currently pursuing one
  • Experience with benefits administration or open enrollment
  • Exposure to a high-growth or startup environment

Our commitment to our staff is showcased not only through our strong company culture, but also through our employee-centric benefits and programs including:

  • Daily catered lunches from locally-owned restaurants and diverse snack offerings
  • Employee-led groups (run club, disc golf club, and book club, just to name a few) that bring employees with similar hobbies and interests together to inspire and build relationships
  • Plentiful opportunities to volunteer with and contribute to local organizations that align with the passions of our staff
  • Flexible PTO to facilitate strong work-life balance
  • Paid parental leave that provides employees with support and flexibility as they grow their families
  • Extensive benefit options including healthy lifestyle reimbursement, 401(k) matching, HSA/FSA, dental, vision, and mental health coverage, and much more
  • Culture Crew and Emerging Leader programs to foster employee leadership development, inclusivity, and connection through year-round trainings and events
