The Opportunity:
As an Accountant for LGEAI, you will manage a set of accounting activities to ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles, corporate policies, and external audits. You will also be responsible for managing the monthly closing of accounts and preparing reports to support financial statements.
You will report to and work closely with the Director of Accounting in analyzing and developing accounting policies, procedures, and controls. As the successful candidate, you will possess leadership capabilities, a solid operational and technical accounting background, and work proactively to drive results. You must be a self-starter, flexible, have a high level of integrity, and be action- and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies, procedures, and operational strategies, including the review and implementation of process and system changes.
- Manage the monthly financial close process, ensuring all incurred costs are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, reconciling account balances, and preparing reports.
- Provide guidelines and support to each department to ensure all accounting transactions are accurately booked and reported in a timely manner.
- Plan and coordinate bi-annual and quarterly audits of physical inventory, reporting findings to management and company headquarters.
- Analyze monthly fluctuations in expenses by examining general ledgers.
- Review expense vouchers and backups to ensure compliance with company policies and US GAAP.
- Prepare materials for external audits, including accounting reports, system change and update information, and accounting policy update information, and respond to issues and requests during the audit.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or accounting related major preferred
- 2-years’ experience in accounting strongly preferred
- Bilingual in English and Korean preferred
- Must be self-motivated, and can multi task in tight deadline driven environment
- Intermediate level with Excel required
- Strong detail oriented, time management, and organizational skills
