We are seeking a highly skilled and innovative Senior Manager for webOS New Business Group to join our New Business team. The role will be based our of our Santa Clara office. In this role, you will be responsible for identifying new and emerging technologies driven by startups and corporations, gaining deep understanding (which may include coding and/or accessing APIs) of the underlying technologies, and nurturing, incubating, and developing new service concepts and prototypes for webOS. Paired with a deep understanding of customer needs and constant communication with our teams in Korea, you will drive the development of innovative service concepts that will launch and operate on a global scale. 
 
You will focus on evaluating core technologies such as agentic AI, LLMs, computer vision, web3/decentralized systems, metaverse, synthetic media/data, transmedia commerce, and advanced HCI paradigms. Your evaluation will encompass both technical feasibility and market potential, with the goal of identifying technologies that can be integrated into webOS to create differentiated user experiences and new revenue streams. 
 
The ideal candidate should have a strong technical background, be comfortable with rapidly testing and evaluating open-source repositories, and possess experience in building quick prototypes using emerging no-code AI/ML tools and frameworks. The candidate must be familiar with leading AI platforms and their APIs, and have a proven track record of staying current with the latest developments in Silicon Valley's tech ecosystem. Experience with Python, JavaScript, and cloud platforms are a plus, as is the ability to quickly assess and implement solutions using no-code/low-code tools. The right candidate will have a demonstrated history of turning ideas into proof-of-concepts, strong documentation and presentation skills, and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. 
 
Responsibilities
 
Trend & Market Analysis:
Monitor and analyze emerging technology trends, particularly from Silicon Valley but also globally, and hypothesize how these advances can be applied to the service industry to stay ahead of the curve and identify potential opportunities for innovation.
Understand webOS customer needs and preferences to inform service development and ensure the creation of relevant, engaging experiences.

Service Innovation & Concept Ideation:
Ideate and develop new product and service concepts for webOS that enhance user engagement and ad revenue, with a particular focus on monetization strategies such as ads, freemium content offerings, gaming, shoppable TV and other emerging business models.
Be a self-starter and conceptualize and bring new service offerings to life, from ideation through initial concept testing, working with relevant cross-functional groups as needed. Ultimately, prototypes with promise must go through rigorous adaptation to become services working with many teams globally. 

Prototyping & Service Design:
Design and build prototype services to demonstrate and test new service concepts.
Collaborate closely with design and engineering teams to iterate on prototypes based on user feedback, refining the user experience to align with strategic goals.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work with product managers, marketing, engineering, and design teams to translate service innovation ideas into viable products.
Partner with commercial and business development teams to evaluate monetization opportunities and assess the commercial viability of new ideas.
 
Qualifications
 
Experience:
Minimum of 7 years in a product management, service innovation, technical project management or tech scouting/sourcing, with a proven track record of innovation, product delivery, and/or launch of successful services.
Strong background in evaluating and ideating innovative monetization strategies (e.g., AI agency, shoppable TV, interactive advertising, gaming, etc.) for connected devices.

Technical Skills:
Strong technical acumen with the ability to build prototypes using Python, JavaScript, no-code/low code and UX tools
Experience working with webOS or similar SmartTV platforms is highly desirable.

Industry Knowledge:
Intimate awareness of current trends and innovations in emerging technologies such as AI, LLMs, computer vision, web3/decentralized systems, metaverse, synthetic media/data, transmedia commerce. Additional plus with knowledge of TV, OTT (Over-the-Top), and connected home markets.
Understanding of the SmartTV ecosystem, including content, advertising, and app monetization models.
Skills & Attributes:
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate complex concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Korean language a plus, but not a requirement.
A highly collaborative mindset with the ability to work effectively across multiple teams.
Creative and solution-oriented, with a passion for building products that improve user experiences.
Ability to think strategically while keeping a sharp focus on practical execution and customer value. 

Job Requirements


Bachelor’s degree including at least 7 years of experience in Product Management, Engineering, or Tech Sourcing for Tech Companies or VCs
Demonstrated ability working in or with technology service companies
Technical depth and business confidence to identify and articulate various product & technology choices
Ability to navigate international cultures, work across time zones and be willing to work with a remotely located development and design team
Able to travel domestically or internationally when required to meet with stakeholders and delivery teams
 

Recruiting Range

$175,000 - $210,000 USD
