THE OPPORTUNITY

As a Senior Technical Trainer, you will lead and deliver technical training programs focused on the application, installation, and servicing of LG air conditioning products at the designated training academy. Collaborating closely with the Lead Technical Trainer and fellow Senior Technical Training Instructors across multiple locations—including GA, NJ, MA, and TX—you will contribute to the continuous development, enhancement, and refinement of the training curriculum.

Your responsibilities will include designing hands-on laboratory exercises and delivering lectures covering key topics such as safety, installation, commissioning, maintenance, and repair of LG HVAC systems. You will also administer written and practical assessments, providing detailed performance evaluations to ensure trainee competency.

In this role, you will utilize your extensive knowledge of technical concepts, industry best practices, and procedures related to VRF and ductless systems to effectively support learners. Leveraging your experience and sound judgment, you will independently plan and execute complex training initiatives.

Additionally, you will oversee all operational aspects of the Schaumburg, IL Training Academy. This includes managing budgets, scheduling training sessions, and ensuring that training materials, software, equipment, controls, and learner amenities are consistently maintained to the highest standards for a seamless educational experience.

  • Deliver technical training sessions on LG Air Conditioning products within the LG Academy.
  • Conduct hands-on training at Associate Academies and other designated onsite locations.
  • Oversee management of assigned LG Associate Academies, including maintenance of lab equipment and ancillary controls.
  • Collaborate with training development teams to create and enhance technical training materials.
  • Regularly update curricula, presentations, and related content to ensure accuracy and relevance.
  • Maintain a professional training environment, including materials, software, and learner amenities.
  • Inspect, evaluate, and maintain training lab equipment to guarantee functionality and up-to-date standards.
  • Publish training schedules at least eight weeks prior to the start of each new quarter.
  • Perform complex product and controls testing in lab settings as required.
  • Supervise and ensure academy work being performed is done as quoted and documented.
  • Manage EP portal submissions to get work orders executed for assigned academy.
  • Provide technical support via phone or email for LG products when needed.
  • Communicate effectively with customer technical teams regarding LG product and training inquiries.
  • Inspect and analyze problem air conditioning applications in the field, as necessary.
  • Assist with commissioning of new projects on job sites for practical training purposes.
  • Align training initiatives with regional needs, collaborating closely with the LG Field Team.

THE QUALIFICATIONS

  • Vocational Diploma, Associate’s, or Bachelor’s Degree in HVAC or related field preferred; relevant experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in HVAC technical training or content development.
  • At least 3-5 years’ hands-on experience with VRF and RLC systems in a technical role.
  • Proven expertise in facilitating technical training sessions.
  • Experience managing training academy facilities and coordinating cross-functional activities.
  • Track record of setting objectives and executing effective training support strategies.
  • Strong technical knowledge of LG HVAC products preferred.
  • Familiarity with diverse HVAC technologies such as tools, ductwork design, and load calculation is an advantage.
  • Skilled in delivering training through practical exercises and content development.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50%.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective interaction with a broad client base.
  • Ability to align and execute training initiatives in accordance with department goals.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting technical schematics of HVAC equipment and controls.
  • Strong report writing and professional correspondence skills.
  • Well-developed organizational, analytical, planning, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).

This base pay range is based on US national averages. Actual base pay could be a result of seniority, merit, geographic location where the work is performed

$74,000 - $98,700 USD
