Job Summary:
We are seeking an Import Specialist to manage customs compliance and international shipments for service parts entering the U.S. This role ensures timely customs clearance, adherence to CBP and Partner Government Agency (PGA) regulations, and continuity of our CTPAT Level 2 certification. The Import Specialist will also serve as the designated CTPAT Point of Contact (PIC), coordinating security compliance with U.S. Customs and internal stakeholders.
Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States now and in the future. We are unable to provide visa sponsorship for this role.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare and review import documentation to ensure accuracy and compliance with CBP regulations, HTS classification, and duty/tariff application.
- Act as the company’s CTPAT PIC, maintaining certification requirements, responding to validations, and ensuring supply chain security standards.
- Coordinate with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and carriers to resolve exceptions, holds, and delays.
- Monitor shipments for timely clearance to prevent demurrage, storage, and SLA disruptions.
- Maintain import records in accordance with CBP and internal audit standards.
- Support internal projects such as Foreign-Trade Zone setup, courier program, and FSL expansion by providing import/compliance expertise.
- Develop and maintain SOPs, training materials, and compliance checklists for continuous improvement.
Qualifications / Education / Experience:
- 3+ years of experience in import compliance, customs brokerage, or international logistics.
- Working knowledge of CBP regulations, HTS classification, and Partner Government Agencies (e.g., FDA, EPA, DOE, etc.).
- Experience with CTPAT compliance or other trade security programs preferred (training will be provided if not direct PIC experience).
- Strong communication skills for coordinating with brokers, forwarders, and internal teams.
- Detail-oriented with ability to manage multiple shipments and resolve time-sensitive issues.
- Proficiency in MS Excel and ERP/TMS systems.
- Bilingual (Korean/English) is preferred.
Preferred Requirements
- Previous experience at a customs broker, freight forwarder, or corporate import department.
- Familiarity with tariff management, duty mitigation strategies, or FTZ operations.

$70,000 - $75,000 USD
