Position Overview:
The Staff Engineer, Product Support, will manage and support the chiller product line, including scroll, screw, and centrifugal chillers. This role requires cross-functional collaboration to ensure timely product launch and alignment with North American market needs. The position also involves product performance evaluation, technical documentation review, and providing engineering insights to improve product design and performance.Key Responsibilities:
Product Support and Application:
- Identify strategic product needs and work with Product Management to define product requirements.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with sales, manufacturing, and program managers to ensure timely product launches following the NPI process.
- Work closely with the project team to ensure sound engineering principles are applied in product design, benchmarking against competitors for performance improvement.
- Develop application scenarios and technical requirements to support business cases.
- Review product designs to ensure alignment with code requirements and support competitive product strategies.
- Support product compliance with industry standards, including DOE, AHRI, UL, and building codes.
Product Applications and Knowledge Transfer:
- Provide application support for hot water and chilled water products.
- Create training materials and deliver product/application training to LG sales teams and representatives.
- Collaborate with sales teams and reps to address application challenges and ensure accurate product application.
- Collaborate with product support engineers on technical reviews for new and existing products.
- Work with operations teams to ensure effective aftermarket support.
Industry and Market Awareness:
- Monitor industry developments and competitive products to align product strategies.
- Stay informed of regulatory changes and evolving industry standards to ensure compliance.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience in US commercial chilled water industry, or relevant commercial HVAC experience.
- Experience in the following would be a plus: HVAC chilled water systems, facilities engineering, data centers, hydronics, piping and wiring schematics,
- Technical product applications support.
- Successful history of interaction with factory R&D teams.

$99,000 - $108,000 USD
