R&D Engineer
Opportunity
ThermalWorks has an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about sustainability and eager to be part of an innovative company that’s on a journey to transform the world’s infrastructure.
We are seeking an R&D Engineer to join the R&D team, to design, prototype, test, and validate new cooling products and product improvements - from concept through handoff to manufacturing. You will work hands-on with refrigeration circuits, hydronics, and controls, and will turn test data into design decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Include but are not limited to:
• Design and develop new cooling products and improvements to existing platforms — chillers, CDUs, and supporting systems
• Plan and execute validation and performance testing; analyze results and drive design changes from the data
• Build and iterate prototypes, working hands-on in the lab and test environment
• Perform thermal, refrigeration, and hydronic system calculations and component selection
• Support the transition of new designs from R&D to manufacturing, resolving design-for-manufacturability issues
• Document designs, test procedures, and results to engineering standards
• Incorporate field and application feedback into product improvements
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 5+ years of engineering experience in refrigeration, HVAC, or cooling product development
• Hands-on experience with prototype builds and lab testing of thermal systems
• Strong grasp of refrigeration cycles, heat transfer, and hydronic system design
• Ability to analyze test data and translate results into design decisions
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience developing chillers, CDUs, or liquid cooling for data center applications
• Familiarity with controls development and system instrumentation
• Advanced degree in Mechanical or Thermal EngineeringWorking at Endeavour
