The role
Our commitment to integrity and compliance underpins everything we do. As we continue to expand, we are seeking a Compliance Officer to join our Compliance team with the remit across all EU geographies with a key focus on Germany.
We are looking for a highly motivated and passionate Compliance Officer who is eager to support our business by ensuring the highest standards across compliance with regulations. The business has and continues to grow exponentially which requires a compliance team to keep pace and evolve its compliance and financial crime framework, controls, policies and culture.

What you’ll be doing
- Oversee the DACH and Nordic regions from a Compliance perspective as well as some Eastern European countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Poland)
- Liaise with Liberis’ external AML Officer and DPO in Germany, assist with any update of Policies and Procedures as well as oversee the annual compliance audit(s)
- Liaise with relevant authorities (e.g. BaFin, IHK) as well as external counsels
- Support with the audit of our German entities and collaborate closely with our Finance team to resolve any findings
- Monitor any regulatory development within the EU, especially Germany, which would influence Liberis’ business
- Prepare bilingual shareholder resolutions for the German entities, set up and facilitate monthly management meetings for Germany and manage overall corporate compliance for the EU entities
- Review marketing materials, websites and customer journeys, ensuring the product is presented correctly from a regulatory point of view and all necessary disclaimers and consent declarations are embedded
- Support the compliance team with committee and board reporting
- Work closely with the wider Compliance Team relating to audits and remediate actions relating to EU entities
- Work closely with various internal and external stakeholders, including cross functional departments such as Product, Technology, Commercial and Operations teams, to promote a culture of compliance and ensure transparent communication
- Support partnership engagements for both new business as well as act as the go to person for compliance and regulatory questions for our existing partners in the DACH region
- Lead training initiatives for the EU markets to enhance staff awareness and understanding of compliance requirements, financial crime risks, AML obligations, and the importance of compliance within their roles that is tailored to individual roles
What we think you’ll need
- Proven experience (we expect this to be roughly 3+ years) within compliance in the financial sector or other regulated industry
- German native speaker and fluent in English (C1) – any Nordic, Czeck, Slovak or Polish language skills would be an advantage
- Preferentially a degree in law (FH) or passed the 1. Staatsexamen at university; alternatively, a degree with a focus on corporate governance, risk management, compliance, regulation, internal audit or finance and accounting
- Relevant professional qualifications in compliance such as the International Compliance Association (“ICA”) or compliance would be highly advantageous.
