This is an exciting time to join Liberis in Atlanta. We’re scaling fast in the North American market, bringing our embedded finance solutions to more partners and small businesses than ever before.

Reporting to our Head of Underwriting, you’ll help shape the way we assess and manage risk as we expand, while coaching a talented team and strengthening the foundations of our US operation.

 

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Lead & develop a growing team of underwriters: offering day-to-day guidance, coaching and regular feedback to drive professional growth and high performance.
  • Underwrite new and repeat finance requests: analysing multiple data sources to make sound, balanced decisions that protect Liberis while helping small businesses access the funding they need.
  • Partner with customers and internal teams: gathering the information needed to make confident calls and, when required, communicating approve/decline decisions directly.
  • Act as a key referral point for stakeholders, ensuring our policies and procedures are followed while finding smarter, faster ways to work.
  • Challenge and improve our processes: helping us strike the perfect balance between customer experience and risk management as we continue our rapid US expansion.

 

What We Think You’ll Need

  • Proven experience in underwriting, ideally in small-business finance or a similar lending environment.
  • Confidence making independent decisions and explaining them clearly to colleagues and customers.
  • Sharp attention to detail with the ability to turn complex data into clear insights.
  • Strong communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Comfort working in a fast-growing, evolving business where priorities can shift quickly.
  • Previous people-management experience, with a focus on coaching, mentoring and developing high-performing teams.

Our hybrid approach

 

Working together in person helps us move faster, collaborate better, and build a great Liberis culture. Our hybrid working policy requires team members to be in the office at least 3 days a week, but ideally 4 days. At Liberis, we embrace flexibility as a core part of our culture, while also valuing the importance of the time our teams spend together in the office.
