We are currently a team of sixteen based in London and Mumbai with responsibility for partnering with our Global operational teams. You’ll join a dynamic, fast paced innovative team, made up of enthusiastic and experienced finance professionals. You’ll help us drive business performance by continually challenging our ways of working, developing a best-in-class financial process while ensuring compliance with all global reporting and tax requirements.

Who are you?

We’re hiring our first in-house Tax Manager to develop the tax function. This is a greenfield opportunity to build a modern, scalable tax framework that supports product innovation, global expansion, and regulatory compliance. As the go-to tax expert, you’ll work cross-functionally and get involved in everything from strategic planning to day-to-day operations.

You are ready to build something exceptional from the ground up and combine deep tax expertise with a commercial and collaborative mind set. You thrive in fast changing environments and have the confidence to steer the business in tax matters be it structuring international operations, launching new products, or optimising compliance frameworks. You’re not afraid to roll up your sleeves one moment, then step back to define long-term strategy the next.

Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of tax compliance across UK and international jurisdictions (US, Europe, India)
  • Develop scalable processes for VAT, corporate tax, transfer pricing, and inter-company arrangements
  • Advise the business on tax considerations relating to new products and  strategic initiatives
  • Partner cross functionally (Legal, Product, Tech, Operations) to ensure tax is built into operational decisions
  • Support international expansion by navigating cross-border tax obligations and registration requirements
  • Support and advise on employee share schemes and equity compensation including tax treatment and reporting obligations
  • Assist with R&D tax relief and any other incentives and exemptions both in the UK and internationally
  • Contribute to forecasting and tax provisioning for financial reporting

We think you’ll need

  •   ACA, ACCA or CTA qualified
  •  Strong UK corporate and indirect tax knowledge, with international exposure a plus
  • Previous experience in-house at a fintech or high-growth company, or coming straight from practice with relevant client exposure
  • Understanding of emerging tax issues in the digital economy
  •  Self-starter mindset with the ability to design processes from scratch
  •  Excellent communication skills—you’ll be translating complex tax topics to non-tax audiences

What happens next?

Think this sounds like the right next move for you? Or if you’re not completely confident that you fit our exact criteria, apply anyway and we can arrange a call to see if the role is fit for you. Humility is a wonderful thing, and we are interested in hearing about what you can add to Liberis!

Our hybrid approach

Working together in person helps us move faster, collaborate better, and build a great Liberis culture. Our hybrid working policy requires team members to be in the office at least 3 days a week, but ideally 4 days. At Liberis, we embrace flexibility as a core part of our culture, while also valuing the importance of the time our teams spend together in the office.
