POSITION SUMMARY:

The primary responsibility of the Managing Director, Institutional Sales, is to identify opportunities and develop relationships with institutional partners in market channels to grow new referral channels and source direct deals. They will help build a team to manage channels by attending conferences and making referral contact through existing relationships like LinkedIn and Email, including boutique investment banks, commercial and community banks, and revisiting former relationships.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Identifies and cultivates prospects and/or clients.
  • Serves as a key liaison between company and referral partners.
  • Meets monthly funding targets.
  • Initiates and follows up on new business opportunities.
  • Leverages the organization’s relationship with existing institutional accounts by developing and executing proactive, creative, and ongoing contact initiatives.
  • Ensures that product and sales materials are always updated and focused for the applicable presentation, conference, or opportunity.
  • Continually inspire team members to further develop sales opportunities.
  • Track submissions pre and post visits.
  • Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Years of Relevant experience in financial services is preferred.
  • Direct Sales or relationship management experiences preferred.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to create sales/relationship opportunities with prospects in assigned market channels.
  • Must possess strong negotiation skills.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills are required as well as the ability to work well with a variety of people at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong presentation skills.
  • General understanding of the financial markets and alternative financing.

Education Requirements/Additional Preferences:

  • Required Years of Work Experience: 10+ years
  • Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree, College degree or equivalent work experience.

  • Additional Preferences (If Applicable): Prior sales experience (institutional business development preferred).

 

Salary Range: $120K-$250K
