POSITION SUMMARY:

The Controller will direct and oversee the financial reporting for the company, direct the preparation of current financial reports and summaries, and oversee the control environment, including monitoring key controls, the reconciliation process and systems and access controls.  Oversees Accounting department and audit functions. Works with other department heads to monitor each department and make recommendations.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directs the preparation of all financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, shareholder reports, tax returns, and governmental agency reports.
  • Compares sales and profit projections to actual figures and budgeted expenses to actual expenses.
  • Analyzes operations to identify areas in need of reorganization, downsizing, or elimination.
  • Document controls and begin the SOX compliance process.
  • Ensure state filings are processed in a timely manner.
  • Produce draft/final financial statement.
  • Oversee finalizing month end close functions.
  • Treasury management including approving cash outlays.
  • Responsible for managing all company related insurance.
  • Responsible for managing internal and external audits.
  • Adheres to compliance procedures and internal/operational risk controls in accordance with any and all applicable regulatory standards, requirements, and policies.

  • Strong understanding of control environment and best practices.
  • Strong understanding of consolidation accounting and general ledger reporting.
  • Proficient in database and accounting computer application systems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

 

Education Requirements/Additional Preferences:

  • Required Years of Work Experience: 12+
  • Education/Experience: Master's degree in business administration, Accounting, or Finance. College degree or equivalent work experience.
  • Licenses/Certifications: Certified Public Accountant designation preferred.
  • Additional Preferences: Financial Services industry experience

 

Salary Range: $200K-$240K
