We are AI Native

We are building an AI native company where AI is an integral part of how we build and operate. AI tool usage during interviews varies by role. You may be asked to demonstrate proficiency with AI tools, discuss how you leverage AI, or complete interview exercises without AI assistance. Your Recruiter will provide clear guidance as you move through the interview process.

Undisclosed use of AI not previously discussed with or approved by your Recruiter may impact your candidacy.

About The Team

The Devices team at Life360 is responsible for building the connected hardware experiences that bring families closer to the people, pets, and things they care about. As we grow our ecosystem with first-party and third-party hardware, we are investing in expanding the capabilities for Life360’s family safety platform. Our goal is to dramatically expand the number of connected devices in family circles, deepening engagement and driving subscription growth across our 95.8 million monthly active users.

About the Job

The Principal Product Manager, Embedded Devices will own the strategy and execution of Life360's device integration for both first party devices and third party devices via APIs and SDKs. A successful candidate can seamlessly work across business development, marketing, and engineering: you will identify opportunities, define the integration architecture and partner experience, and drive adoption in ways that measurably grow user engagement and subscriptions.

This is a high-impact, cross-functional role that requires both technical depth in IoT and Bluetooth connectivity and the business instincts to develop a scalable, commercially compelling device ecosystem. You will work closely with hardware engineering, software, product marketing, and external partners to bring this program to life.

The US-based salary range for this position is 178,500 to 261,500. We take into consideration an individual's background and experience in determining final salary - therefore, base pay offered may vary considerably depending on geographic location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The compensation package includes a wide range of medical, dental, vision, financial, and other benefits, as well as equity.

What You’ll Do

  • Act as the voice of the customer and deeply understand the jobs to be done with devices
  • Own the end-to-end strategy for Life360's embedded device program across first party and third party devices as a 0 to 1 product lead
  • Define the end to end app experience for bluetooth and IoT-enabled devices
  • Define APIs, SDKs, certification requirements, and onboarding processes that make it easy for hardware partners to connect to the Life360 platform
  • Work with hardware and software engineering teams to build scalable infrastructure that supports a broad ecosystem of 1P and 3P Bluetooth and IoT-enabled devices
  • Develop a compelling business model for third party devices, including commercial terms, pricing structures, and success metrics that drive subscription and engagement growth
  • Collaborate with product marketing and growth teams to develop go-to-market strategies for device launches, ensuring users discover and engage with devices within the Life360 app
  • Use AI to compress partner discovery and evaluation cycles — autonomously researching device manufacturers, synthesizing spec sheets and competitive teardowns, and generating first-draft integration assessments, API/SDK specs, and partner-facing collateral so human time is spent on judgment, not transcription
  • Act as the primary solutions architect for strategic partners — translating partner device capabilities into Life360 experiences that deliver genuine user value
  • Define and own program KPIs including device discovery, device connections, impact on user retention, and subscription conversion lift
  • Run autonomous analysis loops on device telemetry and program KPIs — querying engagement, attach rate, retention lift, and subscription conversion data continuously to surface anomalies and partner-level performance signals without waiting on analyst queues
  • Evangelize the devices vision internally and externally, including representing Life360 with vendors, partners, and at industry forums

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of product management, solutions architecture, or technical program management experience, with at least 4+ years in IoT, connected devices, or consumer electronics
  • Deep technical fluency in Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), IoT connectivity protocols, and embedded/firmware systems — enough to be a credible technical partner for hardware teams
  • Knowledge of GPS, Cellular, Wi-Fi, and other RF technologies is a plus
  • Proven track record building and scaling programs, ideally including API/SDK-based integrations with external hardware or software partners
  • Experience as a solutions architect or field-facing technical role is a strong plus — you know how to translate complex technical capabilities into partner-friendly integration paths
  • AI-native operating style (hard requirement): direct, hands-on use of AI to drive execution across the product lifecycle — research, specs, analysis, partner collateral, and reporting — autonomously rather than as occasional assistance
  • Comfort designing with and operating semi-autonomous systems as both a workflow accelerator and a product capability; able to reason about where agents fit in partner integration flows, device onboarding, and support
  • Strong business instincts: able to identify opportunities, frame value, and structure programs that work commercially for both 1P and 3P devices
  • Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally across engineering, design, marketing, operations, and business development to deliver integrated product experiences
  • Analytical mindset with experience owning engagement metrics such as device attach rate, active integrations, retention lift, and subscription conversion
  • Excellent communication and storytelling skills — comfortable presenting to engineering teams, C-suite, and external partners alike
  • Comfort operating at both strategic and tactical levels; able to move from long-term vision to hands-on implementation
  • Experience in fast-paced environments; able to build programs from scratch, navigate ambiguity, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders
  • Passion for Life360's mission to keep families connected, safe, and supported through technology

Our Benefits

  • Competitive pay and benefits
  • Medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance plans (100% paid for employees)
  • 401(k) plan with company matching program
  • Mental Wellness Program & Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for mental well-being
  • Flexible PTO, 13 company-wide days off throughout the year
  • Winter and Summer Weeklong Synchronized Company Shutdowns
  • Learning & Development programs
  • Equipment, tools, and reimbursement support for a productive remote environment
  • Free Life360 Platinum Membership for your preferred circle
  • Free Tile Products

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
