About the Role 💡

Technology is core to everything we do — from the systems we trade on to the infrastructure that keeps us running. We’re always interested in meeting talented engineers who want to build things that matter.

This is an Expression of Interest. By registering, you’re putting yourself forward for current and upcoming Technology opportunities across software engineering, infrastructure, and data. We review every submission and reach out when there’s a fit, whether that’s now or as the business grows.

You’ll work on systems where performance, reliability, and correctness genuinely count. We hire across a range of areas and levels — software engineers, low-latency specialists, infrastructure and reliability engineers, and data engineers — and we care about how you think as much as the languages on your CV.

Your Mission/s at Life Trading 🎯

Build & Engineer:

• Design, build, and maintain the systems that power our trading and research
• Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code
• Solve performance, latency, and reliability challenges in a demanding environment
• Contribute to architecture and technical decisions as the platform grows

Infrastructure & Reliability:

• Build and operate robust infrastructure, deployment, and monitoring
• Help keep critical systems fast, stable, and observable
• Identify and remove bottlenecks across the stack

Data & Tooling:

• Build data pipelines and tooling that support trading and research teams
• Improve developer experience and internal tooling across the business

Collaboration:

• Work closely with traders and quants to understand needs and ship solutions
• Share knowledge openly and contribute to a strong engineering culture

What We’re Looking For 👀

• Strong computer science fundamentals (data structures, algorithms, systems)
• Proficiency in one or more of C++, Python, Rust, Go, or similar
• A pragmatic, problem-solving mindset and high standards for quality
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with real ownership
• Clear communication and a collaborative approach
• Curiosity about how systems work end to end

Bonus Points For ✅

• Experience with low-latency, high-performance, or real-time systems
• Strong Linux, networking, or systems-level knowledge
• Experience with infrastructure, containers, cloud, or observability tooling
• Background in trading, fintech, or other performance-critical domains
• Contributions to open source or personal projects you’re proud of
