Position: Peer Recovery Support Specialist (PRS)
Job Summary: Peer Recovery Services (PRS) is a key part of Lighthouse’s recovery care, using community-based, individualized support to improve engagement and overall wellness. Services are delivered with empathy, respect, and a focus on self-directed recovery, informed choices, and independence. PRS providers use their lived experiences to guide, support, and empower clients on their recovery journey.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Proactively seek to support individuals in recovery from a substance use disorder.
Services can be provided in the community, client’s home, or treatment facility office.
PRS expresses understanding, support and respect for the many paths of recovery an individual client may wish to pursue. Services can be provided in-person or over the phone but not through text.
PRS must be able to drive and occasionally transport clients.
PRS must have a working knowledge of the drug and alcohol treatment system and be willing to assist the peer in accessing appropriate levels of care in consultation with licensed behavioral health clinicians.
The PRS must live a life in recovery and demonstrate a commitment to the recovery community.
Maintaining confidentiality of communication between peer and peer recovery supporters. The confidential nature of this relationship does not extend to areas covered by mandated reporting.
The PRS are considered mandated reporters in the State of Ohio.
The PRS will serve as a role model, act as a mentor, advocate, and motivator.
Serve as group facilitator for various peer led support groups.
The PRS must demonstrate an ability to share personal recovery experiences and to develop authentic peer to peer relationships.
Maintain electronic health record, billing sheets, group-sign in and other records as required.
Assist recovering persons to identify their personal interests, goals, strengths, and weaknesses regarding recovery.
Support connections to community based, mutual self-help groups.
Participate and contribute to weekly staffing discussions with clinical and case management.
Other duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Abilities:
Keeps abreast of community resources, educates clients about those resources.
Promotes a natural support system in the community for clients served.
Promotes progressive pro-social interventions (e.g., client connectedness in the community, involvement in a safe and supportive environment, participation in activities where the person served finds social acceptance, and positive reinforcement to promote recovery).
Encourages community-based "Wellness and Recovery Action Plan."
Required Education:
Minimum high school diploma/ G.E.D.
Must possess OMHAS or other designated accrediting body in the State of Ohio Peer Recovery Support certification and be in good standing.
Valid State of Ohio Driver's License and valid car insurance
Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen
Must be 25 years or older

Detox RN- Full Time
Position: Registered Nurse – Lighthouse Residential Treatment
Job Summary: The Registered Nurse (RN) works under the supervision of the Nurse Manager as part of an interdisciplinary team ensuring the provision of safe and high-quality medical and nursing care. The RN through nursing assessments communicates client needs to the medical providers and provides education to help clients meet their treatment goals.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties include, but are not limited to:
Completes assessments as part of the admission process and throughout the client’s stay
Executes orders from the medical providers, including medication administration and assessments, documenting all care in the electronic client record (ECR)
Performs point of care testing, including obtaining urine specimens, and arranges transport to lab as ordered.
Provides individual and family counseling.
Participates in the development and delivery of educational curriculum on medical topics.
Supervises LPNs providing nursing care.
Administers medication as required by protocol.
Responds to crisis calls for assessment and pertinent intervention as needed.
Completes clinical documentation as required.
Ensures client care by providing support to the interdisciplinary team as needed, which includes coordinating care with outside providers and discharge planning.
Abides by all federal and state regulations and accreditation standards in the delivery of nursing care.
Maintains good working relationships with support networks, government resources, and community resources.
Maintains a comfortable, orderly, safe, and clean environment for clients
Completes all agency-required training and continuing education required for license.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Required Experience/Certifications:
Valid and current state RN license
Minimum 1 year of behavioral health nursing experience.
Knowledge of psychiatric medications, their indications, common side effects, and common medication interactions.
Knowledge of federal, state, and other applicable standards for clinical practice in assigned area(s).
Valid Ohio driver’s license and insurance.
Must pass BCI check, all corporate compliance checks, and employment drug screen.
Must already be credentialed with OH Medicaid
Desired Experience/Certifications:
Psychiatric or addiction nursing experience preferred.
Schedule: This is a full time position, 12 hour shifts 7am - 7:30pm
Compensation Range: $36.00 - $43.00/hr DOE
